Recently I saw her profile on myspace and should I take the chance in getting to know her much better, because I really want her to be my girlfriend. Should I give her hints that I had a crush on her. My biggest fear is that she is already taken, which I hope is not true.

There's no problem with getting to know her. Just say "Remember me from middle school?" and go from there. Maybe talk about stuff from school that you remember, and then get to know who she is know. The important thing is to build a friendship first, and then mention your little 8th grade crush to her. Good luck, and hopefully she is untaken! :)

Why do you want her to be your girlfriend? Do you honestly think that in 14 years she's still the same person? You need therapy.
