The trinity is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
To love Mary takes nothing at all from Christ, but honors our Blessed Lord by Whose grace she is who she is: His greatest creation, the greatest of Saints, the Queen of Heaven, the Immaculate Conception, the spotless Virgin, the Ark of the Covenant, the New Eve, the mother of God, and the mother of Israel -- our mother who wants nothing more for us than to pray for us and show us her Son.
She is our spiritual Mother and she wants to pray for us.
The Hail Mary Prayer
Hail, Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.

The simplest way I've heard this described is through St. Patrick's analogy of a shamrock (3-leaf clover). It is one 'thing' but it has three branches, which he likened to Father, Son & Holy Spirit. There may be a few people out there who worship Mary but it is not the norm. People think because you pray to (or comune with) a Saint, you must be worshiping them. Myself, I worship one God, who presents Himself as the Holy Trinity. Do you think it might just be possible that a Higher Power may have a better lock on this than humans? As for going to Hell, the state of Grace makes allowances for those of us who blunder. I sincerly hope this helps.

You have to understand Jesus was the God of the Old testament. Im not giving you an answer. So when you read the bible Jesus created earth, he gave the commandments, he talked to moses.
Until he came to earth in the New Testament we didnt even know there was somebody else. We only knew that because he said there way. After 4000 years nobody heard of God the father.
I dont see anywhere in the bible that allows you to pray directly to God. Thus most prayers are in the name of Jesus Christ Amen. Jesus was the only one that did it.
My opinion.

Really the Christian faith has only one GOD (The Father) and he had a son, Jesus Christ, who, because he is His Son, is also God or a god). Jesus was very quick to point out that the father is God, and very sharply pointed to his father as Lord and Master.
Because God is very great and not a man but spirit, His word is a living and great being. It is our belief that his word became flesh and dwelt among men as Jesus Messiah, who God made to stand between God and man having lived as a man and as a god.
In our book, and in the Koran also, there is at the beginning "Let us make man in our image".
Passage Genesis 1:26:
26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
From the Koran: THE COW [2.32] They said: Glory be to Thee! we have no knowledge but that which Thou hast taught us; surely Thou art the Knowing, the Wise.
[2.34] And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam they did obeisance, but Iblis (did it not). He refused and he was proud, and he was one of the unbelievers.
[2.35] And We said: O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the garden and eat from it a plenteous (food) wherever you wish and do not approach this tree, for then you will be of the unjust.
the main thrust of the matter is that Jesus is not some other God, nor does he suggest anything but that men should come to God through him.

If a Christian does not worship Jesus and the Holy Spirit as members of the Trinity, then he is erring in his belief, and we need to do the best we can to show him the correct way.

The Lord God, the Lord is One.
Yet, He is in 3 persons.
John 1 says, "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) ...and the Word was God (in Greek, the God)."
When asked by the Pharisees if Jesus was who He said he was, He replied, "I am", which is the same, "I am" Who spoke to Moses.
In the prophecy in Isaiah, the Messiah is called, "Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace".
Upon talking of His departure, Jesus said, "I leave my Spirit with you."
I could go on, but scriptures show that God is one, yet in three persons. He is God and can do this.

I'm not sure what religion or denomination you are, but I believe in the trinity. God is manifested in three PERSONS. Believing in the trinity is not believing in three Gods, it's the belief in a hypostatic union of the Godhead. They are three distinct persons, and yet they rely on one another so entirely, that they are not complete without the other. The Holy Spirit's purpose is to direct us to Jesus, that we may praise Him. The Holy Spirit is the One who convicts us of our sin, and guides us to Jesus Christ. Jesus, came to redeem us, but His purpose was to make a way for us to get to the Father, equal with Him, but deflecting the praise. Jesus said, "He who has seen me has seen my Father". I don't buy Oneness- Consider the baptism of Jesus. All three were present. The Father spoke from Heaven in an audible voice "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased" the Holy Spirit descended in the form of as dove, and Jesus was standing there just having been baptized. Do you think that Jesus spoke to Himself from Heaven and glorified Himself?? Jesus never glorified Himself. Also, consider the cross, when Jesus spoke, "Father why have you forsaken me... or into thy hands I commit my spirit" Was Jesus talking to Himself?? I don't think Oneness people are going to hell at all. I just think they're pretty confused. I guess i don't know what you're saying about "the path of John". Accepting the prophets? We accept them as that. Prophets, but Jesus wasn't a prophet- He was the Son of God. He's set apart from all the others because He's divinity. People referred to Him as a prophet because He had the Qualities, and yes, He could speak as a prophet. A true prophet's source is God and Jesus is God! He's 100% man and 100% God! He has complete access to all things, all knowledge, all of everything because He is God! Yet, he limited Himself, for the sake of the redemption story. Humbled Himself to take on flesh and did such an amazing thing for us! I could never thank Him enough what He did for me on that old Cross! Died a voluntary death to take away sins that I could never pay the price for. Grace. Simple grace. No prophet could redeem me of my sins!!
As for the comments that declare that trinity orginated with the Pagans, take a journey through the Bible from the beginning of time and see all of the ways that the trinity was reflected in creation itself, long before there was any such thing as a pagan. There are a lot of things accredited to the pagans that are actually a twisted form of the truth. Satan can't create anything for himself, so he has to take all of his ideas from God and make "imitations". That's where we come up with all the warped and twisted ideas in many religions and the confusion that brings so much distress in the hearts of people, searching for the one simple truth.
Sorry for the long tangent... I just get excited about my God. I can't imagine following any other way! The trinity and the redemption story and the impeccability of our Lord is so astounding to me... but mostly the incredible grace of God... Hope this was somewhat helpful! :)

The god of Islam is not the same god as the one in Christianity.
In Islam they believe Allah doesn't need to have a relationship with his followers, that all he wants is them to follow his laws (the 5 pillars). That Allah doesn't necessarily need "love" from his people.
God in Christianity continually tries to gain the love of his followers, though he could simply make them love him, he wants them to WANT HIM. God came down in human form and suffered, willing to take away our sins, because he loves us SO much.
Jesus was God. He was the Son of God. Hard to understand, but God can't simplify himself to be able to be understood by us. He is beyond our comprehension.

You have to believe in Jesus to go to Heaven because he is the one who died for our sins. Therefore, you have to believe in the Trinity.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
