My friend has a huge obsession wit guns and he is always going on about them even to chiks he just barely met and i don't think that it is healthy for him to be obsessed wit guns and shooting that much. He says that he wants to be a gun engineer but it is still kind of freeeakyy when he just goes on and on and on about them.

I knew a guy like this. He may have Asperger's or Autism. Both of those can cause this sort of behavior. The fellow I knew was an Aspie, and it was gun history and hunting. I learned a little from him, but back on topic, it depends.

If he's talking about guns violently, or enjoying scaring people, yes, it's a problem.

If he's honestly fascinated by how they work, it's fine and healthy.

If he were fascinated like this with, ohh, the crusades, would it still be freaky?

It sounds like he's trying to show off his "Street Cred" - when he doesn't have any to begin with...

"Yeah - I'm dangerous... I would shoot anyone who even so much as looked at my girl..." - sound typical?

He'd better watch himself - one of these days he is going to end up saying something to someone who actually HAS a gun, and get himself shot!
