Depends on how you feel about dating again. Only you can decide when you are ready. I would suggest you go slow and ask yourself while you are dating if it is working for you emotionally.

I would wait at least until you've actually broken up with the guy before you start dating. Once you've taken that step, let your head guide you. Just avoid falling into a meaningless relationship for the sake of filling the void. Aside from that, just go back to what you were doing when you met the current boyfriend - just be a little more selective next time.

You should wait a bit. It is going to take some time to move on from this relationship, and even though it wasn't perfect, this man has played a huge role in your life. Take some time for yourself since you've been committed for a while. You should start dating when you feel it's right.

You aren't even out of the house yet and you're already wondering about dating again?? I think you need to take it one step at a time. Likely, jumping into things too quickly is what got you into this mess to begin with. Take it slow and give yourself some time to get up and running on your own again without having to immediately jump into another relationship.

Well if you're having issues with your feelings towards him, you should wait a while. If not go out there and mingle. I would suggest that any new guy that comes into your life should be told about your possessive ex, as sometimes they come back to bite you in the a*s.

A years not long. Get out and meet people. You don't have to date if you don't want to, but there's nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with new, better people and maybe you'll meet "Mr. Right"... or screw it--doing over think it, and just go out and have fun. Get out of that abusive relationship.
Good luck

I was exactly like you, sister. Lol. But don't worry, eventually, you'll get the hang of it again. Just allow yourself time to find yourself again and time to be single. Don't rush yourself into another relationship, okay?? Good luck and enjoy being single!! You are young! Enjoy it!!
