When looking at a legal perspective, then smoking pot is worse because it is illegal and you can get fines or prison times for possesion. However, no matter how illegal pot is, the fact is that cigarettes are much more toxic to the body and do way more harm. You really should do neither while pregnant, but for sake of answering your question, pot would be safer than cigarettes when it comes to the damage in your health.

Yes and No. When people smoke pot they tend to hold the smoke in longer than they would if they were smoking cigarettes. However, someone who smokes a pack or two a day is getting way more smoke than someone who smokes a couple bong rips a day. That might be the equivalent of a couple cigarettes.
When is the last time you heard of someone dying of lung cancer because of their two cigarette a day habit? Never.

As of today, no one who has only smoked pot has been documented as having lung cancer. Cigarette companies add chemicals into the tabacco in order for you to become addicted. Because weed is natural, there are no chemicals added. Also people who smoke only weed smoke much less than someone who smokes cigarettes. However, smoking anything is bad for your lungs so its your choice.

As much as a I hate to say it. Pot is way better for you. Its the gateway drug, but it is better and has benefits, it cures MS and helps people with cronic arthritis, and is given to smokers to cure lung damage. POT WONT DEVELOP emphysema!! POT WONT put TAR in your lungs!!!! The THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) soathes lungs, and helps for better breathing. Pot Smoking hippies smoke 2 or 3 joints while the average ciggerette fend smokes 25 ciggeretes. It is less adictive and spinning around in circles kills more brain cells then Marijuanna. Like John Stouselle says " GIVE ME A BREAK"

Yes, it is. The effects are different, as pot affects the brain cells rather than the lungs, and the sufferer is less likely to recognize the damage, so it accumulates until you're so dopey you can't find your a r se with both hands. And unlike tobacco, the effects cannot be reversed, even at the early stages.

No, it is not nearly as bad. However, smoking anything is bad for you. Luckily, there are alternatives to smoking marijuana, like using a vaporizer, or eating it in something...you can make pot brownies, pot butter, pot tea, the possibilities are endless.

Just as bad but in a different way. Did you ever see the resin when you smoke pot on the tip of a joint or in a bong? Well, since there is no filter that is what is in your lungs eventually. That sticky black stuff. Plus it makes you want to eat bad stuff and kills your brain.

Health wise yes, while smoking cigarettes may be addicting pot is much worse on your lungs. Mainly because there is no filter on your choice of paraphernalia. Just look at how much resin is stuck in your hitter, bowl, bong... You have that much more tar or resin in lungs than just the avgerage cigarette. Atleast drag for drag or puff for puff.

They did more research and found out that smoking pot is actually is more worse then smoking cigarettes it's like sticking a pack of cigarettes in your mouth all at one time and does damage to the lungs.
A lot of potheads on here who are in denial.
"Smoking cannabis is no less harmful than smoking cigarettes. The cannabis leaf contains the same properties as tobacco and a fresh cannabis smoke can contain as much tar as twenty cigarettes. Tar is associated with cancers of the mouth, throat and lung in cigarette smokers. In pipe smokers tar is associated with cancer of the lips, gums and throat. With those who chew tobacco, tar is particularly associated with cancers of the jaw and gums."
