You are adding too much milk. Start off with just a little bit a milk then add some ice cream and blend for a second because your blender won't want to blend it then keep adding a little bit of milk at time and blend after each addition until you reach the thickness you desire and you will have made yourself a delicious thick milkshake. Good luck!

MILKSHAKES

REGULAR:

2 c. milk
1 c. vanilla ice cream of frozen yogurt
1 c. fruit such as bananas, strawberries, peaches or raspberries or
A few tbsp. chocolate powder or syrup or use chocolate ice cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Sugar to taste

Blend in a blender until smooth. Add more or less ice cream for thicker or thinner milkshakes.

FAT FREE:

3 c. very cold skim milk
2 c. frozen fruit, partially thawed and broken into sm. chunks
1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine ingredients in blender, blend until smooth. Add more or less frozen fruit or milk to make milkshakes thicker or thinner. If milkshake is too fruity, make a very thick milkshake then thin with milk to taste.

Just put a LITTLE milk and blend it for awhile with ice cream and fruit (or chocolate or whatever) the fact that your "stirring" it might be the cause for the too chunky because you have to use a blender. Since you want it smooth you have to blend it longer which is why you'd need more ice cream and just a little milk or it'll be too thin

I used to work in an ice cream shop. Its pretty simple. Add a couple of scoops of ice cream and a little milk. Mix it with a mixer or with a hand blender. If its too thick add a little more milk. If its too thin add a little more ice cream. Not much else to it.

First - find a good ice cream. Consistency is common sense. Slowly add the milk to the ice cream. Whole milk tastes better, and hot blenders make warm ice cream.

Put three scoops of ice cream in a glass, then add milk to about an inch or inch and a half from the top. Blend.
