Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth. His light is as if there were a lustrous niche, wherein is a lamp. The lamp is inside a glass-globe. The globe is, as it were, a glittering star. The lamp is lit from the oil of a blessed tree -an olive - neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil well-nigh would shine forth even though fire touched it not. Light upon light! Allah guides to His light whomsoever He pleases. And Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah knows all things hidden.

I must say no. Does energy have knowledge? Is it faithful? Is it merciful? Does it promise? Does is it bring us to truth? Does it give us grace? Can it incarnate? Is it divine? Is it of this world or does it have a kngdom? God is more than energy! In john 1:10 it says He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. in john 8:23 Jesus says ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
Deut 7:9 Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and constantly loves those who love him and obey his commands.
2 corin 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty.
1corithians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness

I like idea, reminds me a lot of "the force". I must say the idea of a non judgemental being is appealing, and even better with the idea that is an abstract. For me I believe God just is, some days I lean more torward the idea of God as a parent.

God is the multi-dimensional reality, we are embedded in that is responsive to consciousness. It has been described as a cohesive gel, an energy field, an information field, etc.

You are on the right track. Religions develop based on individuals who have discovered how to access it. All processes require psychological purification because there is a relationship between mind/reality that is powerfully creative/causal.

I think so. The Dalai Lama in a PBS video interview series entitled "Searching for God in America" basically says that God (or the Ultimate/Divine Mystery) is just what you ask, energy.

If God is energy, that's the same as saying that God is the universe.
That is anthropomorphising the universe, which is something quite useless to do when we already comprehend it without the "God" cover. It would be a needless addition.

God is light itself. A mysterious, all-encompassing energy that is most difficult to understand with the mind, yet abundant and life-giving.

Does that mean that I am wasting God due to leaving my lights on at night?

Nope, God could not just merely be energy.
He is a Spiritual entity in the embodiment of Jesus Christ.
The Bible refers to God as "He" (a personal pronoun) throughout its pages.

However, if the Bible isn't the book for you, then sure, your god can be an "it."
