WOW can you believe this!!
first ? about racing and very few haters, basher, and idiots answering.indianahoosier has best answer but several of ya had good answers.a true fan will follow him no matter where he goes.so to set table down we have
1 the smartest car owner in history,
2 most popular driver in most polls,
3 4 time champ and 2 most popular driver
4 the current champ and 4 most reconized name in history
5 and someone with legendary name
to me sounds like Hendricks has recreated the Fantastic 4 or Superteam.

its kinda funny history is repeating it self.with a team that will be almost unbeatable and its got a dale on the team. last time this happaned was with childress.
many of JRs fans will not be cheering for him but as he starts winning again they jump back on the wagon.

I don't think it is a question of fans leaving, true fans stick behind their driver. Otherwise they wasn't a real fan or supporter. Joining Hendrick's stable could anger Earnhardt's followers because it will team him with Jeff Gordon, a driver generally despised by his rabid fans. Making the real question here, what/how will this effect "the rival" of Earnhardt fans towards Jeff Gorden? Will the "can throwing" become a thing of the past? Or a tradition of "FRIENDLY FIRE"? This is gonna be fun to see played out, huh?
As for JR going to Hendricks? It is a landmark opportunity for both driver and owner, Mr. Hendricks himself described it as a "WOW DAY". For a driver to win, you must have the equipment to win and with a 10/14 win thus far alone. HMS has that proved worthy. As a owner for a car to win you must have drivers who wins. That's is in JR's blood and shown with 2 back to back Busch Championships.. Now with the top 3 drivers being in HMS next year, look out! I truly believe this is a WIN/WIN situation all the way around!
No matter how well the move works on the track, it figures to be a big hit on the bottom line. "Junior" alone sells 30 percent of all NASCAR merchandise, and by one account, instantly adds $50 million to the value of his new team, reports CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann.
"It's a dream team for marketers, there is no question," says analyst Matt Lalin.
Mr. Hendricks, you had it going on before, but now you put the icing on the cake and lite the candle! It's party time in the Hendrix stables, so let the party begin!

From reading everyone's answers, I believe this Indiana Hoosier has hit the nail on the head. Bottom line, it's a dream package come true for owner and driver. It's almost a monopoly for HMS on and off the track! With the publicity and sales from NASCAR's best of the best all wraped up in one stable. That will have a money revenue flowing faster than the mighty Mississippi River.

There are two types of fans.

One that roots for thier driver no matter what and one that roots for a driver because they hate the rival. The ones who will stick with Jr are true fans. The ones that have interest in changing drivers, well you know. You may as well say that all non hendrick drivers are you favorite.

i've got faith he will have a job with Hendrick as long as Jr is there . it would be undesirable on Hendrick to alter it. Eury and Jr pass back a protracted way and that they comprehend one yet another. distinctive the time while a driving force is going to a diverse team they might desire to take time for the driving force and team chief to get used of one yet another. and for this reason it is so super that Eury went to Hendrick with Jr. they're already previous all that and can be very aggressive top away.

It really shouldn't matter where Jr. went. He had to go somewhere and if his fans are true fans then they will follow him no matter what. But I think that he made a good decision going to a winning team that will give him the opportunity to win.

Its all about winning and Jr. fans know Hendricks gives him the best chance for that.I'm not sure why anyone would think being with Rick H means Jr. fans can't still dislike Jeff.A true Jr. fan will welcome this move and still dislike #24.For me, not Jr. a fan it will still be #24 #48 and and then any other Hendrick car.

Well, I am really happy for him no matter what he does; I'm still a fan and always will be. If he thinks this is the right path for him to take, and he feels that he will gain more wins, then the best for him. Besides, he said so himself that he owes his fans more wins and wants to give them reason to cheer him on. So no matter, what team he is with or whatever, on the track, it's still a race against each other.

That is what is going to happen I feel Junebug made the right decsion. He wants to win and Hendrick is the domante ones as much as I hate Gordan I will have to suck it up and go for my man... GO JR SHOW THEM WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF!!!!!!!

If you are (were) a true Junebug fan you'll see this as a positive. If not, then just keep throwin' yur beer and showin' that you weren't really a race fan to start with.
And BTW, since when is it a bad thing for a son to want to be like his father?
