Gimme a break. Any attempt to build a fence or any other barrier that had a reasonable chance of success would have at a minimum been bogged down by one or more environut or open borders group filing suit and tying it up in the courts.

They wanted to use the fence as a milestone to initiating the visa program. I agree, the fence would have hit a snag, congress would have relaxed the milestone requirement, and it would have been business as usual.
Don't let your guard down. keep faxing and emailing the Congress. They will probably pull one of their nighttime votes, like they do when they want a payraise. Don't trust them. especially Mel Martinez. Two faced liar!!!

Not a snow ball's chance in hell. The amnesty bill is obviously part of an open border agenda - and open borders don't have fences, simple as that.
