Yes, I did consider that a few years ago. That's why I started asking all of my friends that are Atheists if my saying things like "God bless you" or "Merry Christmas" was offensive to them.
Everyone I asked said no. They all said that they didn't give it any more thought than someone saying "have a nice day".
The general concensus was that saying "God bless" or offering to pray for someone was considered an act of goodwill and they couldn't be offended over that.

I'm absolutely not a christian, but I cannot possibly be offended by someone's good wishes. Good energy exists wherever you create it, and prayers and blessings are good thoughts/good energy and you'd have to be very egocentric to be offended. You'd also have to be offended by "merry christmas" or the idea of marriage.

Maybe so but dont you think running your mouth all the time can be offensive too. Your time will come when you will need something to hold on to for hope if it hasnt already.

I'm not a Christian, but here's my advice: Get over it.
It's nothing more than someone sending an "I'm thinking of you" card. If you don't believe the prayers to be effecacious, what's the problem?

Considering that some may feel presently they themself is the highest power; it may be offensive for another being to pray for or ask a higher power 'God' to bless them.
