What you have described takes place in most homes today, so this was an easy call. Most people are in such a hurry in the morning time, that oatmeal (instant) is a quick-fix breakfast and just leaving the dirty dish(es) in the sink makes sense when you are in a rush.
For myself though, we don't eat oatmeal and I never leave a dirty dish in the sink (just my own preference).

Sorry no oatmeal I am allergic and no dirty dishes, all dishes in my house go immediately into the dishwasher which I turn on moments before going to bed and empty first thing in the morning.. I can't stand dishes in the sink it makes me nutsy coocoo...

My wife, she said no no no--Tomorrow is shopping day and there is no oatmeal--and the sink is empty*
* we keep dirty dishes in the dish washer--so no one can see--she also wants to know why I ask about oatmeal instead of Ice cream. I told her it was your fault and I would like some ice cream. want some--that turned out good-thank you!!!

I may have lots of oatmeal, but I can't stand dirty dishes in sinks. The rest of my house might be messy, but that's one thing I don't like. Actually I like my house to be extremely clean, but my daughters prefer it messy. I digress. Sorry.

And you're correct. We have those oatmeal packettes you just add hot water to, and one tupperware container and a few silverware in the sink. I'll get the wife on that right now.

Because most of us are humans (although I have this feeling that your picture is not an accurate representation of you) and probably a lot of us do typical things. Speaking of which I need to go and clean the house.

Because we just do. Oatmeal lowers our cholesterol and we have to eat on something. I doubt we wash each dish as we use it! (If you do, you are probably obsessive-compulsive)
