According to the Bible, God is omniscient and created everything. This would mean that he invented science and knows things about it that humans do not know yet. Creationism does not necessarily discount evolution either. People always think of the world being made in a literal week, but the Bible also states that God's time is different from our own, which means a day could have been millions of years in reality. It all comes down to a question of faith and whether or not you have it really.

Because they dont have the strength to believe in themselves. People are always scared of the things they dont understand - noone really understands death, christians cling together in fantasy land, because it makes them feel safer. They cant handle the reality of the situation. Unfortunately, brainwashing and family pressure also contributes to the converted. There are many many retarded godfearers on this planet. My hope is that as we as a society grow smarter, and learn more, religion will slowly be abolished. But there will always be weak mindless people, so I doubt that day will come.

Because they're indoctrinated from childhood. Compare the number of "born-again" Christians to the number of people raised Christian to get an idea--if religions were made up of ONLY "born-agains," no religion would have greater numbers than Scientology. It's not really their fault, they've had this garbage drilled into them since they were young, by parents who've had it drilled into THEIR heads since they were young, and on and on. They are, in the most literal sense, victims. And when they have children, they will become the victimizers without even realizing it, just like their parents did.
These people can't even see that they believe in a god that is a self-contradiction and therefore not only DOESN'T exist, but CAN'T exist! Just like a three-sided square. And why not? Because their logic and reason is literally brainwashed out of them--they are left 'dumb and dependent,' eternally as children who can't even make any day-to-day decisions without referring to the holy book that they've been instructed is the only place they can get any answers.
They're often literally AFRAID to even entertain the suggestion that their god doesn't exist! Some of them go so far as to convince themselves that atheism is a religion just so they can understand it, because they don't even KNOW what it's like to live without religion! That is truly depressing.

There are 6 billion people on the earth. Of them, over 5 billion believe in God, and well over 5.7 billion believe in some higher power.
Where do you stand? Do you think that just because YOU canont see it, that it CANNOT be there?
