As many others have said, it all depends on personal hygiene. Some overweight people don't bathe as often as they should, just as some smaller people don't bathe as often as they should. The actual size of the person isn't the factor. Many things can contribute to body odor- medications, perspiration levels etc. Fat and skinny people both deal with these issues. Fat people smelling worse is a stereotype that has been promulgated for far too long, in my opinion. Just as thinking all fat people eat terribly poor diets. It's not true- granted, some do...but other factors can contribute to being overweight: metabolism, thyroid etc.

No they dont fat-ness has nothing to do with smell and yes some small activities may make them sweat but i know ALOT of people who sweat(both skinny and fat) and dont stink, its the same as skinny people it may have to do with genetics and stuff cuz some people (fat and skinny) can not bathe for a week and smell fine while others cant go 6 hours with out smelling like a monkeys bum

I am a large person and I don't smell. And I have a known a lot of skinny people that are real rank. Any one can stink/smell if they don't bathe, eat right or drink plenty of water.

What smells is the bacteria on a person, so use antibacterial soap.

And to the people that have answered rudely. Get a life and quit judgeing people by the appearance they have. To the person asking the question, I am not offended by the question.

I havent noticed that they smell worse but possibly in some cases they may smell sooner because there are more spots to hide the sweat, of course I am talking about very over weight people, not people a little bit over.

I think it's as others have said...more sweat, harder to reach those "rolls" to clean. Some really fat (yes, let's call them fat...it's not rolls of muscle they have) people never stink, while others reek.

I suspect it has to do somewhat with effort, and somewhat with their body.

However, if I knew I got stinky before the day was over, I'd make an effort to clean myself with wet wipes mid-day if necessary, no matter my size or weight.

Uh...NO. I know a lot of regular sized ppl that smell bad also. It's a matter of personal hygiene and rather a person practices it. If you take a shower or bath, use deodorant, etc, then you will be fine.

I think the more weight one carries the more perspiration they will produce. This explains the lovely aroma over-weight people often have.

Also, seriously obese folks probably can't wash everywhere on their body which adds to the problem.

It depends. Cos i have friends who are really skinny but they smell worse. i have frens who are fat buy they do not have body odour problem. Main factors that contribute to body odour are hygenity, and body toxic. Some ppl are hygenic but they just can get rid of body odour, then it's because of his/her body contains alot of toxin. To get rid of body toxin, eat more alkaline food (vegetable, fruits, egg white, algae, milk/cheese) and make sure you are not constipated. If you have constipation problem, pls try detoxifying products which you can see faster results.

i know some fat people that are not smelly.. i think it's still depends on their hygiene.. it's just that fat people tend to be more sweaty cause they get tired faster than normal sized people because of their weight..

our smell depends on what we eat, so if u consider a fat people eats lots of junk food u can tell it is probably right plus the fact that hygiene is more difficult
