Not really. While they basically work to bring the same saftey features and such to our comp., XP is in my opinon and most others superior to Vista. I refuse to switch to Vista, as XP has given me no problems in the last 5 years. Vista does have a better look to it but that's pretty much it. To me it doesn't have anything better than XP and a common complaint is Vista's annyoing security features that ask you every ten seconds (slight exageration) if you really want to perform the tasks you want to (ex. opening the internet).

No. They're different. Vista Basic and Home Premium don't have some of the functions that XP has like Faxing. Vista has a bunch of Bugs within the system. I'd wait to get vista if that's even an option for you.

Vista is the worst operating system since windows ME, it has no driver database like XP, no compatibility like XP, it is a whole other beast than XP
I suggest sticking with XP, Vista is crap
