If you're an extrovert, you will likely blab on and on about any useless topic that comes up. If you're an introvert, you will likely not waste your time discussing impertinent things.

If oyu have a serious question about a subject people are talking about, then there is no harm in asking the question. People love to talk what they are passionate about. However, if it is just general conversation and you have nothing worthwhile to add. Just stay quiet.

I always say, when in doubt, leave it out.

Rather then make inane comments about a useless topic, I would remain silent, and be a sponge.

If your in doubt and something is really bugging you .. you should ask. if you have doubts about it, I doubt its useless... anyway as I always say... better to ask then to assume..
