4 those of u who jsut htink im a 15 yo 'know it all' atheist...ive done my research on religion unlike some of u. most of u r just told that god exists and u end up believing it, well ive studied science and i owuld like all of you to learn about a guy named Stanley L. Miller. he was the first guy to create amino acids, which is essential 2 the formation of living matter (aka: humans, plants, animals, etc) so tell me..how can one guy in a lab recreate the birth of mankind, w/o getting a woman pregnate or nething? he recreated birth n a LAB TUBE. so i guess he must b god then rite? and honestly, how can u believe that god created earth & evrything n it n less than 7 days? it takes 9 months 2 bring a baby n this world & u guys thnk this hole earth can b creatd n 7 days? & those of u who thnk god just wants us 2 live...well then, y do we die? obv he dont want us 2 live long then. well b4 i run out of space just look ^ that guy & do some scientific research, i promise u wont b disapointed

I'm sorry, but you did not complete your research. Amino acids are only parts of what you need to make a protein, and in order to make ONE SINGLE PROTEIN you need TWENTY amino acids. Mr. Miller only made four. And, if you look even more closely, it shows that out of the 4 (remember, you need twenty for one protein), only Two of them were correct. Yes, two. The other two were crap. Bunk. So, your friend actually only made two out of the required twenty amino acids, and it took him a week to do it. At that rate, he'll have made one protien in 10 weeks, thats 70 days, thats 2.5 months. And no, he did not create life. I believe that my God is all powerful, and that he CAN, beyond a shadow of a doubt, create everything in this entire universe in 6 entire days (the 7th was rest). Why is there death? He created two perfect human beings and placed them in a perfect world without death. Man messed that up. We disobeyed, and now we have the choice to follow Him and live eternally in heaven or follow the world and suffer in hell.
The choice is yours.
Look into this guy, his name is Jesus Christ. He's my Savior. Do some research on Him, and I promise you won't be disappointed.

It took me sometime to think about it and no matter what I couldn't stop believing that the day were science and religion will co-exist is never going to happen. I don't support either side because both of them teach us stuff that may or may not be true no matter what some people say. Who’s to say science is more logical than religion and that religion is more simplistic than science? If you ask me if it wasn't for science and religion being against each other (in most cases) the world wouldn't have developed to what it is today. People wouldn't have felt the need to prove their right. Though I do still hope that maybe someday in the future this “battle” will end.

The Miller-Urey experiment did create amino acids in what was assumed to be the atmosphere at the time. They found that 13 (not 2, as an earlier answer suggested) of the 22 amino acids that form proteins in living matter were present within the week . While they were not correct about the atmosphere, similar results were obtained using an atmosphere that is most likely what was available at the time. Amino acids are not life, however. They are building blocks to it. What the experiments done in abiogenesis have shown is that you can get the building blocks for life without having living things making them. It supports the hypothesis that life may have begun through natural processes.

First off you won't get to a higher truth by doing res each on the Internet, some things you have experience on your own to truly understand them. Second creating an amino acid isn't comparable to creating human life. An important thing for you to learn about life is a lot of times the way things work is counter intuitive. You need to take a more open mind in your studies, if you don' t your no different than the theists.

Science has NEVER created life in a lab or a tube. That is God's power not man's. You seem to be following the path of the scientific "sheep", who want to verify each other with more un-verifiable research, rather than the path of knowledge. I read on line that mortgage rates are coming down in California and some black lady is so happy about it that she is dancing on my home page, but I didn't believe it. Don't just look for things that will support your belief, look at ALL the information with an open mind. And don't be afraid to open a real book. Anyone can type drivel like this on the Internet. Read something that can be verified. Don't just take my word for it open the Bible and see what you are fighting against. God may have a better plan for you like he did for Paul (aka Saul)

God Bless

It is true that he recreated amino acids in test experiments. Doesn't prove evolution, it actually proves an intelligent designer.

Mr. Miller did not put an empty box and create life. His experiment required an intentional goal to perform a certain task. Their had to be a purposeful placement of all necessary specimens. Then he had to place the right chemicals in the right amounts. He had to introduce the electrical charges at just the right time.

Also, a very important note on his experiment is that his test area was not sealed, therefore he could not even guaranteed that there was no outside contamination.

And before you ask the question, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Earth Science. I have seen the test notes and all the flaws that geologist agree on, but will not let the public know so that they will not destroy the supposed truth of eviltuion(spelled on purpose).

It was Adams fault that there is death in the world. I challenge you to go to drdino.com and watch the free videos. I promise you will be disappointed, because your view of the world will be changed.

Also we are not God and He is not us. Our ways are not His ways. God can do things that we cannot even imagine. I applaud you that you do not just take what people say but you do your own research. I truly hope you go to this site and listen to what he has to say.

Please write me back on my email and let me know what you thought about the videos. Also, I would like to know if something happened to you that you do not believe in God or did your parents not want to "contaminate" you with Christian beliefs.

I invite you to join the website below, just let me know who you are and how you found about this site.

One last thing on the subject, Mr. Miller did not create the chemicals he used. He used what was already present. God created the universe and all things in it. Mr. Miller did not, he collected all of God's handiwork.

God Bless You

too many things to answer all at once. just because it takes around 9 months to deliver a baby from a WOMAN doesnt mean it takes that long for God to do it. He can do whatever He wants. He's the one.

and you say that guy created amino acids? so what? if a human can do it, that means that God couldnt have? come on.

and you say you've dont your research on religion. if you HAD done research, you would have read the first book of the Bible- Genesis. it explains everything about where we come from and by Who. it talks about Adam and Eve and how they were once immortal until they went against God. go read the Bible and then you can judge Christians.

I've heard of various ideas about the implications of this experiment and I haven't remembered them. Whether this guys is god or not, the Bible says that human beings can be considered gods if they are judges (although whether this only refers to the Old Testament judges, I'm not sure). The difference between God and man is not whether either can create things, but qualifities such as "eternal power and divine nature." Other than that, it's something that wicked people do to assign the glory of God to mortal man and animals, according to Romans 1.

The work of Stanley L. Miller has been supported by people who have used God's gifts such as sunshine and rain for the purpose of living, as they were supposed to, of course.

Science and religion are not neccessarily antithetical. I'm glad you've studied some science. I encourage you to do some serious study of religion. Not all Christians take the fundamentalist views of the Bible, there are Christians that are pro-choice. Also, if you want to be taken seriously as a 15 year old you should use complete spelling, sentences and punctuation.

AS you said, he created amino acids. Its a big jump to go from that to saying he created birth. Scientist can also create water in the lab, does this also make them God

You say you dont believe in Christianity and God but then you ask why do we die. This shows that you have not studied the very thing you have set yourself up against. We die because we are born with a sinful nature and have been since original sin. The wages of sin are death. But through Christ we can be saved from this final sentence if we believe and allow him into our lives.
