Robert Morey of Truth Seekers claims Allah was a Moon God but he has no proof. The word "Allah" has been used all along for the name of "God" in the Arabic Bible for Jews and Christians alike. The proof is easy to verify; simple go to any hotel or motel on the earth and look in the drawer next to the bed and take out the complimentary Bible, placed there by the Giddeons and then look on page 5 or 6 where they list the examples of translations they have made into other languages. 2nd example given is for Arabic speakers. The verse is from the Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 16. Everyone knows this one; "For God so loved the world..." and the word in Arabic for "God" is "Allah." Then if you have a Bible in Arabic, look on page one in Genesis, and you will find the word "Allah" fourteen times.

oh geesh how hard is it for people to get:

allah is the arabic word for god. of course you would hear lots of stories about allah just like we here lots of stories about various dieties people called god. Here it is a word, a descriptive noun.

The Allah of Islam is the God of Christianity (note the capital first letter indicating a proper personal name for the Creator neither of which can actually be pluralized in any language). It is ridiculous how people will attempt to stress what is obvious difference in linguistics to meet their agenda.

I studied this at pre-school, very common RE knowledge.
Mecca was moonlit during the birth of Muhammad.
This was thought due to the flag variations.

Allah is not the God of the Bible.

Allah (name) is the Ilah (god/title) of the Qur'an.
Jehovah (name) is the allah (God/title) of the Bible.

There IS a difference, but it is not obvious when the ancient languages are translated into English. For example, Greek has more than seven words in the language which when translated into English are all translated "love." While the Arabic is grammatically correct, it is conceptually incorrect.

"Allah" is the Qur'anic Arabic name for Almighty God. This name is also used by Arabic-speaking Christians.

Allah is The Creator of the moon. And the sun, stars, planets, and other celestial bodies.

All concepts of god came from ancient cultures who personified aspects of nature and gave symbolic stories of them which were later copied by visitors to these cultures and were mesmerized by that whic they heard but did not take the time to learn the true meaning before going back home. Thus came religion and the gods can be traced back to the sun moon or animals. The same for Allah.

Where Did Allah Come From?

by Robert A. Morey
© 1996 Research and Education Foundation

Muslims worship a god by the name of Allah. They also give him ninety-nine other names. The question that naturally arises is who or what is this Allah? Where did the Muslims derive their ideas of Allah's nature and attributes?

Historical Source of Islam

Historians, linguists, and archeologists have dug into this question for over a century. Various archeological digs in Arabia and throughout the Middle East have uncovered the answer: Islam is a modern version of the ancient fertility religion of the moon god. Once this is grasped, the rise and history of Islam becomes clear.

Yes, allah was the pagan arab moon god, and muhammad's father's favorite "god" was allah. Islamic scripture says allah calls himself "the great deceiver". This is a clue that allah is not the true God of the Bible, and is really a tool satan uses to fool gullible people.
Another clue is the evil taught by the koran, in direct conflict to God's rules. 33:50 says muhammad, and only muhammad, could have sex with his cousins, all the slave girls, and any other woman who "chose to give herself" to him. The real God calls this adultery and fornication.
The real God said His rules are the same for us all, and that includes muhammad. Leave islam, and ask Jesus to forgive yuo for falling for the lies of allah the great deceiver. The real God is honest.
