Could I lose 45-50 pounds over the summer doing this? (I'm a girl, about 5'3''.)

Breakfast: 2 cups watermelon, 1 apple, 1 banana (I know, a lot of fruit...) --- 300 calories

Then I go running for 30 or 40 minutes.

Snack: 2 more cups of watermelon (or an apple) --- 100 calories

Later I bike 3 miles to DQ, have a soft serve small vanilla cone (290 cals I think) then bike back home another 3 miles. (Or do the same thing except ride to safeway and buy a candy bar of the same calories)

Dinner: Veggie stir fry, a sandwich, OR a protein power bar --- 300 (for any of them)

total number cals: 1000
minus cals burned: 400-500

Please tell me, if I do this every day can I lose 45 pounds in one summer? I am totally, utterly desperate!

Your body is going to hit starvation mode if you try to run on 500 calories a day (calories - exercise) which hurts your metabolism.

You need to bump your calories up to 1500-1600 so you don't feel deprived and your body doesn't essentially shut down. What you are thinking about doing is pretty much a crash diet, which never works in the long run. If you really want this, do it right and do it in a healthy manner.

Get a diet journal and log your food
Eat at least 1500 calories
Eat breakfast every day
Drink lots of water
Schedule a workout routine 5-6 days a week
Get a buddy to help you out
And realize that it will take time. Nobody likes to hear that, but it is true. If you do it in a healthy way you are more likely to stay thin. Good luck to you!

your diet consists of sugars basically which might damage your kidneys and result in weight gain.
dont eat more than 2 servings of fruit at once - its too much pressure on kidneys.
your diet lacks in nutrients and calories.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

It is not healthy to lose more then 2 1/2 pounds a week. Also your diet lack protein and calcium. For a female your age...calcium is very important.
