I'm new in town and I've been out of the dating game for two years. I really need some kind of outing! But is it safe to go? He seems like a nice guy but I only know him over the computer! What should I do?

1) Do you know anyone else in town? I would suggest a public place, with some sort of an escort.

2) Exchange photos beforehand. If whoever shows up doesn't look like the photo...........run!!!!

3) Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean the whole world isn't out to get you.

4) On the other hand, not all people you meet on the Internet are evil, take me, (or you), for example.............

***Be cautious, and smart.***

In rare circumstances it does work out. I met my financee on myspace....there are a lot of freaks out there though, so, if you do decide to met someone, make sure it's a well populated place, take someone with you, bring your phone, let people know where you'll be, and about what time you should be home. Try not to let the person be alone with you, and only met during the daylight hours. Make sure the person doesn't follow you home, and don't give the person your address/phone number. Make sure they give you their information, and let them leave it up to you to contact them. Trust your instincts, if it doesn't feel right, then it isn't.

No, that is a bad idea. Did you know that colleges won't accept some people because they have myspaces? Myspaces are bad. Period. And I wouldn't trust any guy I'd meet on there. Take this advice. I don't want you to get raped or anything. :0) Much love.

Did you see the news story about the 18 year girl that left the target store and was murdered? That could happen to you too!! No, it's better to wait and meet people then go out with this guy. Please don't go! You would probably be better off walking out on the street and pick someone up!

I don't think you should go for it. It's only over the computer you will never know if he is lying. Date people that you can see everyday not on the computer.

be careful... and maybe have someone go with you on the date?
Double date?
talk on the phone yet?
plan an afternoon ... not evening?

i don't know...
it always sounds risky... but... it only takes one bad apple to ruin thing?
so... i think you should plan it with a friend...
and perhaps... get him to get a friend to go out with one of your friends.... it would be an ice breaker?
less awkward?
and a lot safer?

good luck
