Well I know there's manic depression also known as bipolar.
There's alcoholism, which I believe is a form of depression
Theres paranoid schizophrenia which contains
episodes of depression.
There is also social phobia where people are afraid to leave their homes or socialize.
Panic disorder probably involves episodes of depression.
Meloncholia is definitely a form of depression where the person can't let go of sad feelings about a person or situation in the past.
Mourning a loved ones death,...depression.
Losing a lover or a job causes depression.
Losing money at the casino has caused Las Vegas to become the suicide capital of the world.
I know I am a little off base from what you ask, but I guess there really is only one name for it:
DEPRESSION Have a happy day:)

According to DSM-IV:
Major Depression (single episode or recurrent): severe depression.
Dysthymic Disorder: chronic depression for many years, not as severe as Major Depression.
Depressive DIsorder Not Otherwise Specified: depression that needs treatment but doesn't fit the full criteria for the other types.
Adjustment Disorder WIth Depressed Mood: the person is clinically depressed because of a life situation.
Depression can also be part of other disorders such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, etc. It can also be the result of a physical medical condition or drug abuse.

There are many types of depression and some have similiar symptoms and some have very different symptons. The only real way to find out exactly which one you msay have, is to describe you r feelings and symptoms to your doctor that can better diagnose you.
Some types of depression are:

Well bi-polar is manic despair, medical despair is simply despair that meets a medical prognosis, and extreme is simply yeah, "the extent you've" (which it is not scaled on a chart or whatever, however you already know), and psychotic despair is you probably have despair with delusions/hallucinations/severe paranoia. I feel... :)
