If you search online for "duck hatcheries" or "duck hatcheries in California" you will find places. If there is one near you, you could drive there and get them, or they can also mail them to you, although you must have a certain amount to keep them warm. They have many different types of duck eggs. A good place, I think, is Metzer farms.

Make sure you purchase an egg from a breeder or a hatchery. Do not take the advice of anyone telling you to steal one from a petting zoo or take one from a wild duck's nest. Stealing one from a petting zoo is theft, and could also disrupt the nesting bird. Taking one from a wild duck's nest is a federal offense.
"(Wild) Canada geese and (wild) mallards are protected by federal law. It is illegal to keep them, even for a short period of time. They have specialized nutritional, housing and handling needs that you are unlikely to be able to provide. Inexperienced individuals who attempt to raise or treat them inevitably produce an unhealthy, tame animal that cannot survive in its natural habitat...All native birds are protected by the 1918 Migratory Bird Treaty Act. It is illegal for any person to possess nesting material, egg(s), feathers, bones or a live bird without the proper permits from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. It is also illegal to harm or kill a protected bird species and it is illegal to remove or destroy nesting material. The law does not protect three birds, they are; Pigeon (rock dove), English house sparrow and the European starling...Never remove eggs or young from the nest."

Go online. You will find many hatceries. Murray McMurray carries several breeds of ducks and I believe still sells fertilized eggs. there is probably a minimum though, used to be. Hatcheries will also sell incubators and instructions.

Get hold of a live stock, contracter or look for duck farms! Look in a phone book, or talk to a pet store!
