A very dear friend of mine seems to have many of the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and I believe the harsh stress she's under at work might also be part of her problem. I can't find anything on "Google" to suggest that stress might be a factor - or a symptom - of the disease. Can anyone direct me to a web site or other data that might link stress and ovarian cancer? Thank you for your help!

I've never heard of stress being linked to ovarian cancer. Most of what I have read deals with damage to the ovaries from ovulation, infection, and the use of things like "feminine deodorant" powders (which travel through the vagina into the peritoneal cavity via the fallopian tubes and appear to irritate the ovaries). The site below may offer some insight.

Sorry to hear that. I do believe there is a test you can take to determine if you have that particular gene. Talk to your Doctor. I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to do that. I had a girlfriend who had breast cancer at age 30, she was pregnant when they found it. She had a double mastectomy, by choice. You should also ask about freezing your eggs. Best of luck with your decision.
