You sound like one of those little nymphs sent over from the liberal side of the aisle to stir up more crap ! How many times are you people going to ask this question ? The friggen Iraqi government still isn't ready to handle things on it's own, and may never be ready ! We continue to ignore the inevitable, that of recognizing Iran and Syria as the real enemy.
It appears that these two rogue country's are stirring up problems amongst the Palsetinian authority along with the legitimate government in Lebanon . Amongst the Palestinians, most outsiders predicted accurately that Hamas will turn on Fatah, which it has done. The Lebanon problem and the Palestinian problem will become one big problem, because this is the way it is headed. They will try and draw Israel into the fray, too.
Hopefully, this time the governments involved will join together to destroy the Hezbollah-Hamas-Syrian-Iran coaltion, once and for all !

If we leave Iraq we would be leaving a country in turmoil behind to self-destruct itself and potentially neighboring countries. That's exactly what the terrorists want us to do. We're just trying to bring stability back, the only problem is that it's taking an awful long time.

Dealing with the mess we made?
I don't want us to be there any more. I didn't think we should have gone in the first place. But since we did, we have an obligation to the Iraqi people to ensure stability before we leave.
In other words, we'll be there for a long long time.

What we are doing is helping the people in the area build a new government and also we are fighting extremists who want to kill us over there not here in the US.

We are there to Bolster the New Iraqi Gov. until they can fend for themselves, against all out side influences, and until they can maintain some semblance of inter-Security, civil peace. We as a Moral, Honorable and Duty bound People need to stay until the job is done.

Wingshooter08 nailed it! The only ones still whining about what we are doing there are the poodle walking Libby's and pot smoking college professors that never fought for any thing except parking at a Grateful Dead concert. Everyone else knows what we are doing there!!!

Sheesh, you obviously should be sent there, to do some investigative reporting! What are we doing there?
First, we got rid of the dictator Saddam, a mass murderer to be compared to Hitler.
Second, we helped the Iraquis set up their own government, not Iranian or terrorist run.
Thirdly, we are helping them to set up schools, hospitals, infrastructure, helping them get their economy going, helping them to be a part of the world.
