I want to get better at drawing..tattoo's are very cool and I want to be able to work in a shop someday..

The answer lies within your statement - you say you want to get better at drawing. You have to draw very well to be a really good tattoo artist. Take some art classes at your local community college. Get serious about art - go to tattoo shows and really LOOK at what they are doing. Be a sponge.

Then when you have put together the best portfolio possible, and if you are truly lucky, you might find someone willing to apprentice you.

Here is what I feel to be a plus -

A personal style and flair

Ability to do portrait work, showing a photo with your rendition of it artistically.

Ability to do really good lettering and stylized fonts turned into words. Anyone can copy font letters from a book but it takes skill to arrange them with the correct spacing adjustments.

Have very good examples of perfect balance and symmetry!
