Tossed Salad

INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon blanched slivered almonds
2-1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds
3/8 head romaine lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
3/8 head red leaf lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
3/8 (8 ounce) package crumbled feta cheese
3/8 (4 ounce) can sliced black olives
1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon cherry tomatoes, halved
3/8 red onion, halved and thinly sliced
2-1/2 fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons grated Romano cheese
3/8 (8 ounce) bottle Italian salad dressing

DIRECTIONS

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the almonds in the skillet, and cook, stirring frequently until lightly browned. When the almonds are beginning to turn, add sesame seeds, and cook 1 more minute, or until seeds are toasted.

In a large salad bowl, combine lettuce with feta cheese, olives, almonds, sesame seeds, tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, and Romano cheese. When ready to serve, toss with Italian dressing.

I agree with esmerelda, dark greens maybe with a simple vinaigrette. Ceasar salad would seem a little heavy with the cream sauce on the pasta.

This dressing is very good!!!
Sweet Honey Dressing
ingredients
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO)
2 sprigs fresh dill, chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

preparation
Combine veggies in a salad bowl. The dressing can be made in a small bowl and whisked together, or, if your jar of honey is almost empty, make it in the jar itself and give it a few really good shakes to mix it. Pour the dressing over the veggies and toss to combine.
Yields 4 servings

If it's a mild cream sauce, I would serve it with a darker green, such as red leaf lettuce, or arugula if you like a little bite. The darker greens will add more color and flavor to your dinner than a ceasar salad will.

Caesar salad is awesome! It's especially good if it's got big, crunchy croutons! Mmm...

Cesar salad is good or you could do a red wine vinaigrette.
