1. greet them with a warm, genuine smile.
2. throw a compliment at them first thing in the morning - i like your outfit, love that lip gloss, that's a great bag, you're looking really nice today, wow you've got a glow this morning! ... be simple or be creative, but be genuine.
3. be a great listener! its probably the most wonderful quality a person can have.
4. get cookies to work! it's a really sweet gesture, and is a great way to make people smile.
5. offer help, but ONLY where it's actually possible for you to help them. go overboard and you'll turn into a doormat!
just make sure you're being yourself, don't be fake!

Pay them a compliment. It sure works for me (both ways). At certain times in my life, I have been lower than low (we all have) or just feeling lousy, and someone would give me a comliment and WOW what a change!
Even if it's just their hair that day or their jacket or their watch. Something.
Don't overdo it or it will become tiresome.
Now you must be sincere; a false compliment or a lie is worse than nothing at all. But we can always find something to compliment someone about, and it would make their day, plus it costs you nothing.

The people I like to be around don't swear, that is so common with some young people now days. And young people who know me, know I don't like it so they don't.
They look at me when I talk to them and act like they are interested, by not talking or batting their eyes around. Eye contact.
Smiling, hugging, touching, say how are you and mean it.
Don't talk a lot and let the other person say what they need to say.
Though when you do talk make it meaningful, about something they want to hear about, not gossip. And make sure you know what you are talking about.

Just smiling a lot around people, and being conscious of what you say (ie: don't talk trash about people, its comes across as mean). People tend to like me and I really just am myself. If you are so concerned about being liked and wanting people to know you care, you're a good person, so people will like you without you having to try. :)

Try being happy, yourself. If you are happy and smile and don't gossip and feel good about yourself, others will want to be around you. Most people, these days, are stand-offish and don't like touchy feely people. You can make people feel good about themselves by being encouraging and supportive. Try 'being there' for your friends more.

i have an older cousin whom i really admire for his ability to be sincere...he makes a priority to do things that u ask him to do..he will keep his opinion to himself when he feels that it might not be needed fully knowing that he knows the better solution to the problem at hand...but when u ask his advice, he will speak his mind abt it in an manner that will not offend his listeners...he keenly listens to other ppl...and remembers the little wishes that ppl make...like 'oh i wish i had that shirt..or o i wish i could go trekking...' and when he can fulfil such wishes..he does so...he also has a sense of giving that is lacking in many ppl i normally interact with...so i mention to u wat i have learnt from him...sincerity...it takes a while..but ppl like u in the long run...i dont think there is a short cut to make ppl like u....genuine sincerity is the key..take care!!
