you just cant compare the two. what are the costs of not trying to educate an entire generation? listen, it's just not as black and white as you want to see it. the issues of immigration policy are a heck of a lot more complex than, well, whatever you are asking....and i am anti amnesty, BUT even i know it aint that simple.

addendum: i am not about to complain about the costs of war, just or not. i want the best for "our" troops even if that involves the normal pentagon shenanigans and defense contractor hi-jinx. say man, we are in this war and even though i'm not sure that it's just, until we are out of there, we shall pay the tab!

and yeah, i can complain about the costs associated with educating, medical care, and so many other things associated with illegal immigration. yes i can because i am allowed to! are you?

Educational costs are really high in some places as much as 10,000 per child per year, you do the math. I do not blame the kids it is not their fault that mom and dad have brought them into a country illegally and dropped them into our school system but the expense is getting higher and higher and leaving our public school systems in a bind.

The demand keeps rising in certain area's and children of illegal immigrants usually have special needs so the cost is even higher, they also need extra time and attention due to the language barrier which slows the educational process down for our kids. Its a hard situation but the costs have gone so high now that something has to be done. The soldier in Iraq is a US citizen and following orders like it or not.

I know the facts below will piss someone off but they are not opinion, they are fact. I don't know anything about educating the Iraqi kids.

FACT: half of the Hispanic kids in school drop out prior to graduation.
FACT: Many of the Hispanic kids are either illegal aliens themselves or their parents are.
FACT: In a typical Hispanic family, education is not stressed as much as in Asian families. When the parents haven't gone to college, they don't always feel the need for the kids to further their education

Based on these FACTS, I don't like the fact that we pay for the education of illegal children. It is wasted!

Ok, educating the "illegal Mexican's" child (does this mean the child of illegal chinese people, irish people, guatemalan people, russian people are not included in this question) costs nothing out of your pocket. When you pay property taxes, or rent, sales taxes on everything you buy and so forth - that is what pays for the childrens education - legal or not - and even the people that are here illegally pay for rent (because they are not squatters right?) or property taxes on their homes that they have bought, and on everything that they buy, so they are paying for their own children's education. Also all of the people that are in the US that do not have children, they pay all of that as well, since they do not have children, should they be excempt from property taxes, state taxes, etc. etc.?

In response to Jessica Rabbit

When you talk about facts - where is your proof. A link to a book, that isn't proof. In the book, does it show the studies that the information was taken from, put that study here.
You say half of the hispanic kids in school drop out befoer they graduate, where is that coming from. If you look at the drop out rate in general before you look at wether they are hispanic or not, the drop out rate is not that high. yet hispanic children make up for a large percentage of the chidren in many school districts. The whole half of them drop out would seriously raise the drop out rate in the school districts.

For your second fact - many of the hispanic kids are either illegal aliens, or children of illegal aliens? What does that have to do with paying for their education. If they are not illegal, but children of the illegal aliens then they must be citizens of the US, so are you saying that as citizens of the US they shouldn't be educated? Where did you get that information from? (the many part) I mean many could be 3 out of 10, or 8 out of 10. Big difference 30% to 80%

Your third fact - have you gone to all of the hispanic households and asked them if they stress education? Those that come to this country, if they have children in this country (or in their own country for that matter) education usually IS stressed because the parents know that in order to do better for themselves, education is one of the keys needed. Now based on the stereotypical thoughts towards Asian families and how they push education, then yes, your last statement could be fact, but then again, going by that stereotype White and Black families don't stress education as much as the Asian families do either, so I guess we shouldn't waste our money educating any other group and only pay our moneys to educate the Asian families.

I would rather see my money spent on educatiing our own children. We have 6 weeks of summer school for migrant/illegal children. This is for children whose parents do not live in our city and dont pay into the system. Then the school district tells us we cannot afford some programs and cuts them. Why should our children pay the price of a lesser education for them?

Well you started to have a point but we kinda lost it at the end there im not sure what you were saying entirely.

But I believe at least you were desperately grasping for some reason to try and guilt trip people into giving illegal mexican kids a free education.. is that pretty much the summary of it?

First of all, PLEASE look up the word amnesty! Education is the key to leading successful life. It is better to educate a child (legal or not) than pay for him/her to live in prison for murdering/stealing/or selling drug due to a lack of education
