In America the Triple Crown is the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes. In England it is the 2000 Guineas, Epsom Derby and St. Leger. In Canada it is the Queen's Plate, Prince of Wales and Breeders' Stakes. In Japan it is the Satsuki Sho, Tokyo Yushun and Kikuka Sho.

To win any country's Triple Crown the horse has to win all three races during the horse's 3 year old year.

The Triple Crown is the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes. The horse has to win all three of the races to win the Triple Crown. So far, only 10 horses have won the race: Sir Barton (1919), Gallant Fox (1930), Omaha (1935), War Admiral (1937), Whirlaway (1941), Count Fleet (1943), Assault (1946),
Citation (1948), Secretariat (1973), Seattle Slew (1977), and Affirmed (1978).

yes. in order to win the Triple Crown a horse must win...
-The Kentucky Derby
-The Preakness Stakes
-The Belmont Stakes

there has not been a horse to win the Crown sense 1978 and that horse was Affirmed. so as you can see, it is a pretty hard task!
but i don't know if you know this, but last year there was an undefeated horse that won the Kentucky Derby by the largest margin in 60 years. his name was Barbaro. so he went on to the Preakness and thats when terror struck. the colt broke from the starting gate before the race began! so he was fine and they reloaded him. so the race went on and in only seconds his right rear leg was shattered in more then 20 pieces. so everyone says he had a chance for the Triple Crown, and i think he did to.
well that was a little off subject but thats ok, just bringin up history lol.
(now im sure sum1 will give me a thumbs down but i don't care Barbaro would've won the crown and i was just making that clear)
