Not really. You should focus on eating healthy and getting outside to exercise more.

Besides, diet pills won't help you STAY lean. You have to change your lifestyle in order to stay thin and healthy.

Cut out sodas, and cut back on sandy, chips, and fast food. Eat more produce. And participate in outside activities like sports or games. Even shopping an be considered a form of exercise. :)

I wouldn't suggest diet pills fro anyone under the age of 18, I doubt they will harm you but I also doubt that they would help. That is not a very effecient way of losing weight. I think you know what the most effecient way is without me telling you, (exercise, eat right-2,000calories, etc) you've heard it all before. But to answer your question I think they are safe if you are basically as grown as you will get, It's not like when you're 18 your body magically becomes safe to the pills. (If any of that made since, I hope it helps)

I advice you to take the pills when you are like 20 or 21, right now your body is growing up and the diet pills, because of its components, might affect it and all so affect your nutrition, I take diet pills since about 2 months and I'm 22, it is hard to keep up with the correct and balanced diet, so at the start there where a few times that I fainted, personal advice girl right now don't get **** in your body yet at least, try to eat healthy, drink looots of water and exercise, that way your bones and body will start to take a better shape and when you grow up it will be easier to keep it :) I was really fat when I was your age (I was about the same height and my weight was 148lbs....) so my body tends to get fat easy, so in order for me to try to keep a nice curvy body I need to go extreme. take care remmember that there is no use of a sick and weak body even do it's thin, and please if you get a eating disorder get help (I had one of those too ._. mia is terrible)

Diet pills are not a good idea for ANYBODY! A change of lifestyle is far more effective for losing weight in a permanent and healthy manner. Keep lots of fruits, veggies, and whole grains in your diet. Don't limit your calorie intake too much because you will slow down your metabolism that way. Drink plenty of water, and get regular exercise (daily if possible). You need about 40 minutes of aerobic exercise (swim, bike, walk, run, dance, play basketball, etc.) plus some toning, stretching, and strengthening exercises. The exercise will burn up excess calories and stored fat, boost your metabolism, and make you feel and look healthier.

Please trust me on this. I know from personal experience that it works and is safe. Check with your doctor. I'm sure he/she will agree with me!

Diet pills (Dexatrim for example) is equilvalent to street drugs even though you can buy them in the pharmacy.

When I was twenty-five I wanted to lose some weight and started taking Dexatrim and I lost twenty-five pounds in a month but I went to the doctor because I began to have a racing heartbeat when I tried to sleep at night because I couldn't relax. I would be up half the night cleaning my apartment.

My doc asked me when my test came back if I was taking drugs. I was horrified because I don't do drugs. The doc said Dexatrim is like taking street drugs and it permanently damages your liver. End of story. I threw the rest of those pills away and never took them again.

Please see a nutritionist at your hospital or clinic. They can help you design a healthy eating lifestyle that would work best for you.

I like the book Fit for Lift by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond.

Eat to be healthy. Enjoy your favorite foods, but in moderation.

Also remember too, one day you may want to have a child and you are preparing your body for your future. How you treat your body now will affect you as you get older. Drink lots of water, make the time for breakfast. You shouldn't skip breakfast because when you have breakfast, it fuels your body and helps it to keep going for the rest of the day.

Eat the best food that you can afford. If can afford it, shop at a whole foods market.
