It reveals the faults of the human saying such things. Often times, the loudest condemners are the ones doing the "sinful" actions in question.

I think it is just symbolic of the fear that these people live in all the time in their lives. Many of them were brought up that way, to be in such fear of their souls.
Then again, many of them really don't believe that and are hypocritically using the idea of God's wrath and punishment against others, while their behaviour is far from perfect themselves. But they are good at pointing fingers.
I think all of that is a mindset of fear and hatred, greed even at who can get to heaven before someone else, grab that spot and hang onto it so nobody else can get it! Step on their hands as they try to climb the ladder up!
I'm glad I wasn't brought up with that kind of mindset, very grateful for that.

I think it says a lot about both. Some Christians like to talk about their angry, wrathful God to scare others into believing what they say. It makes their God look like a brutal tyrant that is looking for a reason to burn people. This is the image I was taught as a girl, and one of the many reasons I stopped going to church.

fear is a mind killer. So people who talk about wrath, punishment, and so on, do fear the revenge of God. If God does or not?? Nobody can tell. maybe they say those things as a kind of insurance to show how God-loving they are?

The wrath of God, due to sin, is a matter of fact.
The only way to avoid the wrath is to swear faithful allegiance to Jesus Christ, who is God's perfect son, apologize, and then repent.
Simple. Same rules apply to everyone.

Both , He has the power to get rid of us but he doesn't , All of us have sinned against God and his law . We all deserve hell and the wrath to come with it .But through God's infinite Mercy he gave us a way out through the blood of his only begotten Son .We have to hear the word of God , accept , trust and believe in Jesus as our personal savior ,and try to live by his will ,we will be accepted in heaven

I think both. meaning ............
One would be afraid of God and therefore afraid of His purnishment for sin or on the other hand someone could be afraid of purnishment from God therefore afraid of God because of His kind's of purnishment.
I'm not sure if the reason you are asking is to see if your statement suggests that one is avoiding sin because of their fear of the Lord, His purnishment or they are avoiding sin because of their love for God. If this is the reason you are asking, i think the reason a christian should avoid sin is because of their love and respect for God and because of this they do not want to hurt God (since they love Him) and it should also be as a way of showing their respect for God.

It says a more about that individual's fear of the unknown. Most of Christianity distances themselves from a God they can understand in preferance to something mysterious. What people don't know or understand is the greatest fear, and fear tends to be used to direct behavior. The fear of unknowable and unimaginable suffering in Hell tends to produce "righteous" living.
I am a Christian and it saddens me to see God used this way.

nicely, you adult adult males let us know that we are able to burn in fiery lakes and be tortured for all eternity because we wronged you in some way. God is curiously a guy crazed with ability who forces us to bend to his will for an eternity of boredom in Heaven or face an eternity of ache contained in the pits of Hell. i don't like adult adult males of extremes, so i imagine i will pass and commence my personal faith. when I die, i will initiate a second existence of inspite of the heck i want to do until eventually I opt for no longer to do it anymore, and then i will locate some thing new. no remember what I do in existence. Now it is a competent deal.

It's all human. Why do people keep giving God human qualities? Like he's angry...or needs praise..or doesn't like this or that, ...
Sounds like he/she is being transformed into Zeus or some other fictional God that had all the human characteristics.
So, don't worry about God. If you have to worry, just worry about yourself.
