Your assumption that removing Saddam or Osama is on shaky ground. We've killed scores of terrorists, and captured / killed some of the leaders without seeing any signs of progress. Those people have a pack mentality, and until you eliminate all of them (which is impossible) the world will never be safe. A truly safe world is unrealistic and if you think this administration is delivering that, then I feel sorry for you when the blanket over your head is removed.
