I had a husband that hit me. He had me literally a prisoner the first 2 times and promised that he would never do it again. Then the 3rd time I had a car available, so when he was in the shower, I left. He was a very strong man who went for the face.
Yes, I still love him. But I will never be in his presence again. This is because I know that if he hits me once, how does he really feel about me? A man who loves you unconditionally will not hit you.
I had to walk away and it was the hardest thing I had ever done, but the choice was to be with him and be treated badly (with the knowledge that he had the power to take my life in an instant)or to be on my own and live a good life. I had to choose the good life.
The cancer has nothing to do with who he is. You are better off walking away from him.
Are you going to raise the baby on your own? He is leaving you whether from the hitting or the cancer, so the baby will be something that you have to consider.
In your best interest, have you considered adoption? You are very young and if the baby is his, it is from a bad relationship. Do you love him enough to raise the child by yourself?
There are programs out there that will give you support through being abused, being young and pregnant, etc. Look for them, they will help you.
Do not be afraid. You are a valuable person and you deserve much better than this.

Listen you make excuses for this guy - CLASSIC response.
1. Go and see a counsellor right away to figure out why a guy like this is even remotely attractive to you and why you are so easily manipulated by him.
2. Leave him - don't wait for another incident. There will be another.
3. As far as the baby, there are many loving homes who could probably offer more than you can. (ie. not living in a foster home where physical abuse is tolerated and not so young and not single parent.) Consider what is best for your child - not what your heart wants.

No man or woman should hit the other even once. One time leads to another then another. You need to remove yourself from the situation. For the protection of you and the baby.Yes I understand that he's got cancer but, that doesn't give him the right to hit on you when he feels like it.That guy should take some anger management so as to learn how to better cope with anger.Being ill can make one snap but, that doesn't give them the right to hit on others.Once a hitter always a hitter.I am a domestic abuse survivor so I know.

It's unclear whether you're about to have the baby or whether you have the baby already.
Darling, I know that you want to 'be there' for him. But stay away from him. He hit you. Out of control, he could kill you. You can't take the only person your baby has - you - out of this life just because you have a good heart and a soft spot for this guy.
Nobody's protecting you. You may feel that this foster family doesn't care about you. I think it might be more the case that they don't feel right getting into your business and they don't know what's going on because you haven't been telling them.
I repeat: protect yourself from this guy by staying away from him. He's not protective or concerned about your baby.
When your baby is born and you have that newborn in your arms, remember that you are the most precious person to that child as he or she is to you. And you have to protect yourself and your child above everything else!

No matter how much you love some one you should never let that person disrespect you or treat you badly in any kind of way. If he really loved you and cared about you he would never do anything to hurt you in any way. It does not matter if he has cancer, he should not use that as an excuse and neither should you. As long as he is in his right mind and know what he is doing, he is wrong and you should not let it continue because you will just start a cycle that will continue until you stop it!

No its not okay cancer is not a excuse to be abusive. Do you really love him can he provide for you a your baby like a man should. If you think you can work it out couple's therapy is always a good idea, but if I was in your place I would get my stuff my baby and leave. If he can't give you and that baby what you need then its time to go. I know cancer is a fatal and serious disease but no excuse what so ever to abuse anyone!!!!!!

first of all you should not let anyone hit you and evn though eh has cancer that still doesnt give him the right to hit you. though he said sorry that doesnt mean that he cant do it again so if he does hit you again you should call the cops, take your baby and get away from him you do not need this kind of stress in your life. you just need to know when the limit is and if he passes that limit no matter if he has cancer you should leave him

Getting hit in a relationship is not healthy for you or your child.
It is just not right. Do not start with forgiving guys when they hit u once, be very careful when u do, they will hit u again for sure.
Just do not let sympathy for this guy's illness blind you from making the right decision. In spite of the fact that he may be very irritated due to his illness, and can not control his anger. He needs help! You should not be the one to try and cure his anger issues. Even if you r trained u will not cure him, because his anger is towards u. He needs anger management classes to deal with this.
Tell him to get help and let that be it for now. Do not promise anything about getting back together in the future, time will tell if this will happen for u.

If someone hits you, it is assault and battery. Period. You are well within your rights to call the cops or leave the guy. Having cancer has nothing to do with it whatsoever. If he can't handle his problems, then he should go see a therapist. Hitting you just makes him a criminal, and it is really bad for your child to see you treated that way. What you choose to do is up to you, but you do not have to put up with that kind of shabby treatment. It is not right, cancer or no cancer.

It's never OK for someone to hit you even if he has cancer that's no excuse. I have had cancer 3 times and I have never hit anyone because of it and I have no right to it's no ones fault and if I'm angry because of it I can't take it out by it hitting someone. Honey if he hits you once he will do it again. It will only get worse. Move on and do better for yourself and your baby.
