I love meatloaf, but I've never cooked it. What are so simple ways to cook it that children will also enjoy?

first, you get a bunch of ground beef. you then put in a mixing bowl to mix it with other things. you can put eggs, bread and milk in a blender and use that as a filler. put in a wide variety of spices such as seasoned salt, garlic, onion powder etc. you can also put ketchup and hot sauce in it for a saucy flavor. it's fun to mix it with you hands or use a mixer. you then put it in a bread pan and let it bake in 375 degrees for about half an hour. serve with mash potatoes and dip in ketchup or bbq sauce and enjoy!!!

preheat oven to 350 degrees.in a bowl mix 3 pounds of hamburger with seasonings, like salt pepper, garlic powder and seasoned salt .add 1 small diced onion and 1 egg and about 12 saltine crackers broken up and1 small can of tomato sauce.mix all this together really well.place in a 13 x 9 baking dish (i prefer glass) press down well and put ketchup all over the top of the meatloaf the more the better.cover pan with aluminum foil and put on a cookie sheet to prevent overflows while cooking.bake in your preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour.it is great.for a meal serve with instant mashed potatoes, rolls or bread and green beans and ice tea or for kids chocolate milk.good luck.

Its very easy...just mix the beef with breadcrumbs, an egg, a little salt, pepper, onion powder and shape. Cover with foil and cook for an hour or so. I top it with ketchup before I cook it. My mom used to hard boil an egg and shape the meatloaf around it so when you cut it there was a "surprise" in the middle.

I don't have children, but my nieces & nephew's love "Aunt T's Meatshapes".....Take ground beef, mix with a pkg of lipton onion soup mix, 1 egg, bread crumbs or crushed ritz crackers & a little heinz 57 sauce. Mix together by hand, then shape into balls. Take cookie cutters & let the kids make their own shape. Place on baking sheet & cook @ 350 til done......give the kids ketchup to decorate with once done........

I always make my meatloaf differently too, but since my toddler now eats it I try to cram as many veggies into it as I can. The last one had grated carrot and finely chopped mushroom in it and it was great.

If you're serving it to kids, serve it with ketchup. It works every time in our house.

meatloaf is very easy to make. just get ground up meat/poultry and mix with anything in the pantry and in the fridge...and eggs. everytime i make it, its always different. i used pace pecante in the mix, and it turned out pretty good. you can add a little surprise, like adding a sausage or boiled egg in the middle of the loaf.

Try using salsa and crushed up tortilla chips instead of your usuall mixers. Top with a lil salsa and some colby jack shredded cheese. Serve with spanish rice, yummy. My kids love it.
