Okay what am i suppose to use in order to keep from getting pulled over until I get a tag for my car I live in the state of georgia?. I have 30 days to get the car registered and I have to get emissions and someother paperwork togather. Is there a temporary tag that I have to get from somewhere? do I write up my own?, I just do not want to be constantly stopped.

Go to your tag/tax office, and bring your Bill of Sale, and they will give you a temporary tag. It will expire 30 days from purchase date. THIS IS FREE!!!

You can put a "Tag Applied For" on your vehicle. But odds are you will get pulled over. That is an easy way a thief might try to get off with the caper. To prevent that, carry your Bill of Sale with you.

The original tag NEVER follows the vehicle.

If its only out of tax take the green slip that you keep from the V5 the mot and you r insurance documents to the post office. If it needs an mot you book it in and get it done, and do the above. If you know it is not safe and needs work you will need to get it transported from one off road site to yours. Unless you want the garage to do the work.

The seller should have given you a temporary tag, if you weren't given one then I strongly recommend you go to your local DMV office ASAP.
