Your cat should be checked on every 24 hours. A minor problem could be deadly if not caught early and they need need a constant supply of fresh water. If the water became contaminated or got tipped over and nobody checked it, your cat could get dehydrated and sick, possibly die.
Check with friends and neigbors. If you get a teenager to take care of it, check in with them and possibly a parent regularly. Even a responsible teen can get tired of the job. Have a back up for the person you pick, 2 months is a long time.
It would probably be safest to board it in a kennel or cattery. Make sure cats are kept separate from dogs. Visit the place to check it out.
Two sites to try for pet sitters:
http://www.petsit.com/
http://petsitters.org/
Most charge between $13 -$15 a visit. Also try the yellowpages, vets, and shelters.
An advantage to using a pet sitter is peace of mind. Plus a pro is bonded and insured.

I would really strongly suggest hiring a pet sitter or taking them to a kennel. Four days is a really long time for dogs to be alone (the cats may be okay if they're not very social anyway and you leave them enough food and water, but it's still not ideal). Your animals could destroy your house, hurt eachother, run away, or get incredibly dehydrated/hungry. What if they're upset when you go and knock their water bowls over as soon as you leave? Then they'd be without water for 4 days! And how are they going to get outside to go to the bathroom? This just sounds like a really bad idea. There has to be someone you know who could stop by to fill their bowls and let them outside for a little while. If not, there should be some sort of local business that does petsitting or you could even hire someone off of craigslist. (If you do this be sure to be very picky! Do interviews and make sure they have lots of references, and maybe do a background check) If you feel that these just aren't options for you because of your dog that "isn't very friendly," then I would say either bring him with you, or don't go. I'm not trying to be rude, but this sounds like a really bad idea. At the very least it will probably cause some severe abandonment issues in your dogs, and at the very worst they could get sick, run away, or hurt one another and they could actually die. Four days is a really long time, please don't leave them alone.

We use a reputable, licensed petsitting service that you could find by checking the yellow pages or asking your vet. For a two month period, though it would be cheaper for you to board the pet. Once a week is not enough to insure good care for your pet and I always fear a possible fire or other catastrophe.

i have worked with pets for years now and i would say a boarding hospital . that way you know your pet is taken care of every day , you do not want your pet to be left alone for longer than a 24 hour period . in case of accident. contact your local vet or boarding facility they might know someone that does home pet sitting thats trustworthy.

I know that some cats have problems w/ new environments but it might be easier to find someone to "take your cat in" while you are away.
Every week might be OK if your cat isn't very high maintenance, my cats would tear my house apart to show their displeasure.
