Bad plan. Any dog owner will be able to tell that it is not their dog. DUH. Just tell them and let them know you are willing to replace the dog. If the dog was not restrained properly then it's not really your fault but it is human nature to feel bad. Good luck

There is no way you will be able to pull this off nor should you expect to. Do you really think they are dumb enough not to notice it was a different dog? It would have to be identical and know the same name. Know all the same things they had taught the other dog and have all the mannerisms of the other dog.

You have to be honest and tell them what happened. They will be heartbroken and angry and in time you may have to replace the dog, but with one of their choosing. Not some fake bought to fool them.

Please do the decent thing and go over there now. They are no doubt already missing their baby and broken hearted wondering where it is. You have to tell them what has happened.

Are you trying to say that you haven't 'fessed up' and told them yet?!! Do you honestly believe they won't notice the difference in personality as well as looks?! You are deluding yourself and trying to avoid doing what you know is right. And just what were you planning on doing with the body?

You need to develop some character and do the right thing, i.e., come forward and tell them what happened, tell them of your remorse (but not make excuses) and, after they have had some minutes to absorb the shock of the tragedy and grill you with questions about how it happened, THEN offer to get them another dog. Yes, it will be VERY unpleasant, but there are many unpleasant things in life that adults have to do. They will probably be horrified and not ready to accept another dog yet. After all, they need time to grieve. But don't skulk and hide away like a thief. Be up front and take your medicine like an honest person. Whether you tell them or not, you will have to live with this for the rest of your life even if it was accidental. A person of forthright, strong character will do what is right for the dog and his family, even though it may cost you financially and emotionally. It certainly has cost them, hasn't it? That cost will never end for them.

Is this a serious question????

You can't do that, it's disgusting. Do you seriously think you'll be able to fool someone into thinking another dog is their own? If you ran over someone's kid would you try to replace it with one that looked the same? No, because that would be despicable.

How about growing some balls and owning up to what you did?

Chalice

EDIT: I've decided this is a joke question - it's too stupid, it's a new user who's never asked/answered anything else, and I mean, look at his username. TROLL!

You should tell them!! They were probably attached to the dog and WILL notice when they have a different dog. If they are nice people they will understand it was an accident. If they find out you lied to them and got them a replacement dog, they will probably not ever forgive you. They will be upset that they don't have their dog, but they will forgive you if they know it was an accident.

in basic terms be trustworthy and clarify on your neighbor what handed off. It extremely grew to become into an twist of destiny, and it extremely wasn't your fault, as your neighbor could have saved their canine risk-free by utilizing keeping it interior a fenced-in backyard, or a pen. i does no longer propose you to attempt and get yet another canine and bypass it off as theirs, because of fact human beings do understand their animals while they shaped a different bond with them, and that they're going to understand precise away that it is not their canine. i desire each thing works out nicely for you.

Dogs are like people and have very different personalities. You can on replace a dog anymore than you can replace a friend/spouse/child.

You need to admit what happened to these people and allow them to morn their loss.

So I take it you killed it. You need to go and talk to them. Really did you think you could just add a chocolate lab, and it would act like the one you ran over !!
I have 2 black labs and they are both very different.

You cant just replace some ones dog. Be a stand up guy and tell them what happend and then ask them if they want a replacement.
