I have been going to the dentist alot and having alot of novacaine and I live on orajel (benzocaine) I don't want to test positive for cocaine. also I've heard that alot of advil can cause a false positive for THC (pot) Is this a real worry or not?

I told the person taking the sample and they said that the examiner would call if anything. Will they tell my employer that I tested positive before I can explain? I never do illegal drugs and I really want this job.

When you 'take the test' tell the person that you give your 'sample' to that you have been seeing the dentist, and may have 'benzocaine' and 'novacaine' in your system, so they can 'put that' with your sample ... that way you'll have 'covered your bases' if there are any 'questions' ... but did you know that if you eat a 'poppy seed' pastry within two weeks of a 'drug test' that you can 'test positive' for HEROIN use? Most people should know that some people 'test positive' for drug use for the ODDEST reasons, and that should be 'considered' by your employer or 'prospective employer' ... and if you do get a 'positive' then you DO HAVE THE RIGHT to have them do a 'second' (and DIFFERENT) test for the drug that was 'positive' in your system.

You don't have anything to worry about. Calm down and relax. Why on earth would you think you'd test positive for cocaine by using Orajel? Novocaine, Lidocaine--all the "caines" that numb--are not related to cocaine. Advil does not make you test positive for THC.
The ONLY way you will test positive for any illegal substance, is because you TOOK that illegal substance. If you test positive for cocaine, it's because you TOOK cocaine. Test positive for THC, it's because you TOOK marijuana.

If you aren't taking any illegal drugs you have nothing to worry about. As long as you inform the person taking your sample... it is marked down... but these don't test positive for illegal drugs, the only thing that tests positive are the illegal drugs themselves.

The only substance that I know you can comsume that will give you a false negative is poppyseed. If you eat a poppyseed bagel, you'll probably test positive for opium (trace amounts). So just don't eat that type of bagel and you'll be fine.

If your worried and you have only been taking what you say, then just tell the people doing the test.
