No. Especially not if I had to pay for it.

I am surprised at all the answers to the negative. I believe it depends on the 16 yr old. Is it male to male, or female to male? Is it in a public environment or is it secluded? Is the 16 yr old knowledeable in the field? It's sad to think that people see teenagers as not having any expertise to contribute to others.
It can actually turn out to be a mentoring situation, which happens all the time in a homeschool environment. Perhaps this 16 yr old is a homeschooled teen, if so then I would definitely use the program b/c usually by this age many are taking college courses at the local community college, and are more mature. If not a homeschooler, then interview the 16 yr old to see if the person is qualified. You might be surprised at just how much your 8 & 12 yr old would listen to someone who is close to their age in a mentoring environment, instead of "just another adult trying to teach me something."
I would suggest you interview the teen, ask to see a lesson plan, and ask what is the source of the information that he/she is going to teach. Everything you listed the kids would learn is a valuable lesson to learn. I wouldn't discount them simply because they are taught by a 16 yrs old. An adult can be just as morally questionable as a teen.
Best of luck with your decision.

Absolutely Not. There needs to be adult supervision for
children of those ages. A 16 year old doesn't have the
experience should an emergency arise, much less the
credentials to be teaching anyone about nutrition, sports
psychology or work ethics. There's much more here than
meets the eye in the way of necessary understanding of
vulnerable children and pre-teens. Who's running this
program and are they accredited. Look into it carefully.

why not? i know about those kind of things at 16 years old. at 16 years old, i got certified in lifeguarding and cpr. i had been on sports teams since the age of 7 and learned over the years about good sportsmanship. i knew what it meant to work hard, at sports and in school.
i see all these answers like "absolutely not...", but i'm well into adulthood now and i know i could have ran a program like that at 16 years old. in fact, i've been coaching since i was 14!!!
the problem with age is it forgets how youth thinks and feels. put a little more trust in.

Wouldnt pay much for it, and would want the 16 year old trained in emergencies, could administer cpr and call 911, but not diagnose a sprain or that kind of thing.
Plus it depends on the kid running it, and how many other kids would be there. Also maybe not tackle football, but something non-contact.

Nope.
This kind of instruction should be run by an adult. There is a LOT of misinformation out there, even in health clubs, and "Ys."
Does 16 yo know CPR, First Aid, allergic reactions, how to discipline kids?

If it was monitered by adults or instructed by a town recreation program, possibly. Would want to meet the 16 year old. Also would depend on class sizes, money, etc. Probably not.

More than likely- I would not... Unless this person was a relative.
Is this 16 year old CPR and First Aid certified? Has this person watched your kids before?

well I'm going to tell you from my point of view because I'm 16 myself. if i was a mom yes y? because just because someones 16 doesn't make them stupid, if they were they probably wouldn't teach that class, i say if the 16 yr old knows what he/she is doing then of course but that's me.i coach a little kids soccer team and i hope to god the parents don't think negative on me because my age.
