So who else thinks its a good thing that JR is coming over? There are so many JR fans that HATE Hendricks and anyone associated with them, I wish I could have been with each and every one of them when the announcement was made.

Having said that, I have always liked Jr. He was one of the few "New Guns" that showed the older drivers respect and drove like he had sense.

Tell me how you feel.

Well, the reason I haven't been much of a Hendrick fan is b/c i didn't like his drivers. Kyle is probably the driver i dislike the most in NASCAR right now, and it use to be Jeff Gordon. And I don't care all that much for Jimmie. However, Kyle is leaving, and i don't dislike Gordon as much as i use to, b/c i've seen a change in his attitude, and i'm glad. As far as Jimmie, i dont hate him, never have, just not one i particularly care for or cheer for. But I am an ultimate Dale Jr fan. And as a TRUE fan of Dale, I will support him where ever he goes,, i'm still going to be a Jr fan no matter what. I wanted him to go to RCR, but I can see he is very happy and excited about his new racing home for next year, so I'm happy for him as well, and i hope that it turns out to be an extremely successful decision.

Hate is strong word, I don't hate any of the drivers, I have a lot of respect for anyone whose in the top racing series. I could only dream of having as much talent as they do. I do dislike drivers though (Gordon, Johnson, and most of all, the Busch bros.) All of them for different reasons. But most of all because I am a fan of an "on-track" rival of those drivers and the success they are having. Its ok to boo drivers you don't like or to be happy when one of those drivers has an engine problem. It is the fun of being a fan. And no I do not condone throwing anything onto the track, "toilet paper rolls" included. Junior going to Hendrick is making the rich, richer. Therefore I will add him to the list of drivers that I root against.

I'm a JR fan and I think he found himself the best deal.

A lot of people wanted him to go to RCR. This would have been a bad move. He would always be en compaired to his dad. If JR gor 5 championships at RCR people would say, "His dad got 7"

Back when his dad was racing he was good friends with Jeff. Jeff used to seek Dale Sr's advice. It was the fans that decided it you were an Earnhardt fan you were supposed to hate Gordon and vice versa.

I am like you and I have few drivers. I think JR will be a good addition to Hendrick.

I am not a Hendricks fan but I like that JR is at a place that is on top of its game and producing winning race cars and drivers. I think that the change will be great for his career even if most of his fans will turn.

I think most #24 fans like Jr. - why not. It's a collection of his fan's that make NASCAR look bad - at the track and away in forums like this. I wish I could have been there with a room of Jr. fans a well. Would make a great "priceless" commercial.

I've traditionally not been a fan of Hendricks, but I'm glad Jr is going there. They have the best equipment in NASCAR right now. Will I root for Gordon and Johnson next year?? Not likely, but I prob. won't root against them like I have in past years either.

Well seeing as Jr. is my favorite driver and the fact I said he would choose Hendrick Motorsports the day he made the anouncement of leaving Dale Earnhardt Incorporated is no surprise to me. With that said it was the smartest decision he possibly could have made. Look out for him next year because he will be a man posessed with the equipment he will have.

I agree....I don't "hate" any drivers the way that DEI fans seem to "hate" HMS followers. It's kind of an odd thing if you really think about it....guess it goes to show the high maturity level and respect for the sport as a whole by HMS fans and the complete opposite from DEI fans. (I'm sure I'll get some thumbs down for that comment ;o)

I'm excited that a driver with such potential like Jr is coming to HMS...however, I will always root for MY driver - Gordon!

And LadyL, may I suggest using spell checker so that when you display your bad attitude, you don't look uneducated as well? The word is "a lot."

i feel the same way.
i'm a die hard jeff gordon fan but always kinda liked junior.
i just didn't like his "fans" most of them who would disrespect other drivers i don't consider real fans so to me red nation is full of fakes and junior doesn't want you to hate other drivers for the sake of him being your favorite.

its sad but i'm really hoping that this will bring out his true fans even though there will be so few of them. red nation will become a thing of the past and maybe NASCAR can gain a better image in the world of sports.
