I've been invited to a wedding the week after next and wonder what I should wear. The weather's going to be scorching and I don't want to wear a suit. Is a color dress shirt and tie appropiate for a summer wedding? I'm thinking of wearing a color such as a light orange or pastelish brown and matching tie? There will be a service and a reception right after...What are you guys opinions?

It sounds appropiate. I would use a contrasting tie as opoosed to a matchimg tie though. Bring a sposts jacket just in case everybody else is wearing a suit and do wear dress pants.
And please! Do wear black socks and nice leather shoes.

Good luck

For a summer wedding a full suit isn't really necessary in my opinion. You'd take off the jacket at the reception anyways. Nice color choices. :)

Most men don't wear suits to weddings anymore, so you will fit in just fine wearing slacks and a dress shirt. Most men will be wearing similar outfits to yours because of the hot temperature.

How considerate of you to check and make sure that you will look appropriate!

I'm assuming you've double-checked the invitation as to dress code? If it's formal, you'd want to do the whole suit and peel off layers, as I'm sure others will be doing if it's that hot.

There are a couple of things to consider with this

Where is the wedding located (state?)

Is the wedding ceremony and reception outdoors?

What time is the wedding ceremony and the reception?

I think that what you are describing sounds just fine. If you are dark, the light orange would look really nice. I'm not a fan of brown. Have fun!

something tatseful and fitting to the type of wedding. if it's semi formal to informal slack, a dress shirt and a tie should be fine.
