Why is it that all the people for illegal immigration come out of the woodwork and stand together making themselves look so united and gain so much support? Yet the people against it sit at home and complain? Why can't people start putting together massive (and I mean millions of people) to come out and show congress that not everyone is for illegal immigration? I am tired of people posting questions here about mexicans taking over, hearing the couple behind me at the super market complain, hear Bill O'Riley go on about it every day and so on. People, if you are against it, stand up and show it on the street, IT'S YOUR RIGHT MORE THEN IT IS THEIRS!!!! Take the fourth of July for example, a day when we all celebrate our independance and take pride in all the rights that come along with it. Why can't a big march be planned? Instead, people will be sitting at home drinking beer, barbequing, and taking their boats out. Illegals at least take a day off work to get their point across.

I'm mexican american, born here with parents who migrated here legally over 30 years ago. I use the word illegal immigration because it is illegal to cross the border without at least a visa. Just because you live here illegally, have kids and plant roots doesn't mean that you should be allowed to stay. This country wouldn't fall apart without them as so many fear. My husband's job is topped off at the same pay twenty years ago. If there weren't so many illegals willing to do the same job for less then maybe employers would be forced to raise the pay.

There should be nothing chaotic about marching on the street. The vast majority of pro immigrations marches have been very peaceful. As for seeming racist, there is nothing racist here. I'm mexican american and I'm very proud of that. My parents came here legally and made a very good life for themselves. They started a business, invested in real estate and raised a moral family. I taught my two children now to speak spanish from my home because I want them to know their mexican heritage. They take yearly trips to mexico with their grandparents. There is nothing wrong with immigrating here, everybody deserves the right to strive for a better life, but it has to be done legally.

No, moody trojan, the world does not revolve around me. It's not about what can be done for me. I'm not a pregnant illegal getting free child birthing in a hospital. How much do you think that costs? Do you know that in California, you will not be turned down for Medical if you are illegal and pregnant?

Ok Moody, let's just keep letting people into the country illegally. If something isn't done about the ones that are here illegally already, then what is going to detour others from coming in? I'm not saying round them up and send them back, but you don't think that they should be punished in any way? I don't have the solution here, I'm just tired of hearing people complain about it. I'm a member of the Republican Women's Club in Arizona. I vote and I write to congress. I'm not holding a torch here as many people who don't agree with my opinion want paint me. As far as not being proud of the struggles of my ancestors, my parents did struggle but they did it legally and worked hard to get where they are now. My grandfather worked constructing the railroads in California and lived here many years here legally. He struggled too.

The people who are most vocal against illegal immigration have absolutely no practical suggestions to make. All they say is send them home. Most Americans are not willing to foot the bill for that and some businesses would suffer. We need a practical approach to addressing the problem and Congress is trying to work one out. The millions of people in this country illegally have to be accounted for and we have to find an intelligent way to do it.

I would like to give you a point of view as an African American. The vast majority of us were shipped to the States and all over the globe against our will. Africans, the English, the Portuegese, the Spanish and French were all a part of the slave trade. It is for these reasons our point of view on Immigration should be of interest. Migrant workers are an asset to this country because of their work ethic and the pennies they make keeps them just above slavery and this country gets a huge return. America still is a land of opportunity this is not a slogan or symbol, look at the television show American Idol, a 17 year old Jordin Sparks is Idol Champion, she will get on a record label. These migrant workers are the ancestors of great civilizations that we read about. This includes the Aztecs, Mayan and Incan peoples, who also migrated to other parts of the world and in some cases like the African sold into slavery by their own people. However, the Latino culture remains intact compared to African American culture and practices. Integration into America has caused us to lose much of our heritage and definition including no relationship with our homeland. I do not think we should blame the people in this particular case. American businesses and manufacturing have paved the way for years. Fruit growers, landscape architects, roofers, homebuilders, farmers and vacation spots that are based on a service economy have provided opportunity. These ancestors of the aforementioned civilizations have taken advantage of the business opportunities to fill in the cracks of a Capitalistic economy. The crumbs on our floor continues to nourish the migration to America and feed the migrant worker on a daily basis. What is illegal about the immigrants is the trade. The African slave trade was illegal, the slaves were pawns who were also accused of breaking the law; The Slave Code Act, The Fugitve Slave Code Act, nevertheless we fulfilled a need and built this country on the cheap. The rippling effect was and continues to be chilling in political acceptance. Over the last Century, America has placed in the books, Civil Rights Laws as part of a remedy. Therefore, a long these lines I would think the more immediate need is to address the 10-15 million migrant workers that have been grandfathered into this country by illegal circumstances. They are a working class, that continues to work. It is impractical to ship and root out migrant workers. Guidelines can be legislated for them. The businesses that have caused this onslaught of migrant workers should be penalized, fined and taxed, for a period of time. Use this money to fund the initialization of a guest workers program. The businesses deserve the brunt end of this, just as those who have illegally gained income and services. As for those who come through our borders, we need to have an aggressive military operation. The military needs to focus on the "coyotes" that escort immigrants and contraband over the borders. If we make our borders like a military state, then we can get some breathing room to sort out the civilian side of the equation. The net effect is that this will freeze migration over the border, it will put the current migrants in a holding pattern on both sides of the border because they can not go back and forth on a seasonal basis. We can then come up with acceptable political and social solutions to better absorb this workforce without the expense of this country's working class. For example, any physician will tell you that first you must stem the bleeding and give the blood time to clot before you can do anything for the patient. This is analogous for the American/Migrant worker. To further extend this example, once this is done, you must stabilize the body by getting a read on the vitals. Same would be the case for a Migrant Worker diagnosis. Once this is done, the resultant surgery may prove painful, but their is less of a chance the patient will bleed to death; and the Caretaker has the clinical cues to make a decision that will not cause an allergic reaction or a bodily rejection of the therapy. This is the approach we need to have on this issue, if not, we will have revolt on our hands, much like the 50's and 60's with the then "*****". Trust me.

Many people have taken a stand against amnesty for illegal immigrants. The tough part is getting our elected Representatives to understand that U S citizens DO NOT WANT illegal aliens given across-the-board amnesty. I support amnesty in the sense that illegals declare their status, attend training on how to legally be in the United States, return to their own country and apply for legal entry. Those who do not comply should be treated as the criminal they are and arrested. The employers who support the illegals should also be arrested. By arresting and collecting large fines from the employers who hire illegals we could build a large budget to locate and apprehend the illegals. EVERY ONE NEEDS TO CONTACT THEIR REPRESENTATIVE AND MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND THAT ALLOWING ILLEGALS TO REMAIN IN OUR COUNTRY IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Most people are against illegal immigration. The far left and communist like Ted Kennedy want all these illegals to be allowed entry. Who do you think stopped the first plan, the people against illegal immigration. Bill informed the people and they all called there polls. Peace

The media portrays that the illegals are more untied. Where I live in Central California the anti protesters outnumber the pro, but the media only shows the anti on the evening news.

They ARE doing something. There were major rallies last month, and even tomorrow there are more rallies and protests...but we don't get covered on national news because the people who are trying to get illegal aliens amnesty are the same ones who own the news media. It is very sad and sick to know that we have been sold out....but this goes much deeper than just illegal aliens wanting amnesty. Part of this bill is to legalize the SPP (Security and Prosperity Program) which furthers the North American Union that the elites are trying to shove through to join Mexico, the USA and Canada into ONE nation.
When I say it goes SO much deeper than just amnesty, I am not kidding! And all of these deals are back room deals without any citizen oversight! And it doesn't just stop at Republican or Democrat, because they are both just as guilty.
I liked your question because it shows the PASSION that we as AMERICANS need to stop this stuff from proceeding!

I am against illegal immigration and believe that they should all go home and wait in line like the rest of the immigrants, However if I had to chose between spending a nice day with my family or marching a parade against illegal immigration the I would chose my family, I have family that came over here illegally and I would send there sorry lazy asses back if I could, I think the simple fact that they can walk down our streets and not get arrested says something about our local governments. And if they are let go then we should go find them again it is unacceptable what is going on.

Because the people you are talking about are the quiet hard working, respectful people in our communities and states that contribute to the economy and do not demand benefits in return. In fact they do not march in the streets demanding anything, they take care of their own families and pay their taxes without ever being heard, but oh are they being heard now! They are from every different walk of life all the way from the unskilled laborer to the highly skilled, high wage employees.
Sometimes marching in the street demanding things that you are not entitled to actually hurts your cause for example, the last two amnesty marches.

I like your question. It actually has depth and intelligence other than what's all been posted on here 24/7. You're right. I'm mexican-american myself. Proud of my hard working and intelligent family. I too am fed up of hearing people complain and whine all day and night about this. Something should have been done at least 10 years ago. There's too many to deport and there's no human way possible to deport all the illegals. If they did round up all the illegals here, it would make the great US of A look very sh*tty...pardon my language...in the eyes of the rest of the world. And for the jerks on here that say-so what? It does matter. It will affect our trades and commerce with the rest of the world. But yes, there has to be a fence built and tighter security put on the border.
