I'm using a muffin mix that's plain. I can mix something in but I have no idea what b/c I don't have anything good. No dried fruit, bananas, zucchini, choc. chips....nothing.

Any other things I could put in to dress it up?

Try some toppings:

CINNAMON MUFFIN TOPPING
4 tbsp. butter, melted
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Dip muffins in butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

1/2 c. butter
1 small package cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. confectioners sugar

Combine butter, cream cheese, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
Gradually add the sugar, while beating well.

If mixture is too thick to spread, thin to a spreadable consistency by adding a small amount of milk.

you could make them into Spice muffins by adding cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger. or all 3. I've done this a few times and it helps quite a bit. or if you have cocoa, add about 3 tablespoons of that. I like that topping idea someone else posted.

I once put it dessicated coconut - that's interesting... yummy too of course. Also, this may sound strange, but you could grate apple and add it!

My favs are choc. chips and nuts, but I guess if you don't have any of that, then you can't add it.
