Officer was rude to me when i asked a question, i was nice and polite, as that is my nature. The question i asked was i was wondering why they had banned someone from taking a city bus for 60 days because they were smoking outdoors at the terminal grounds. They didn't bust everyone for smoking there just a couple people. This person is actually very close to me whom it happened to and i was in need of answers.. Yes so it was an easy simple question and i was total polite..
He was so ignorant to me. I was so nice, i have never been in trouble and i look like a normal human being, not some weirdo..lol.. I honestly am very easy going and a nice person. I respect others and i believe in treating others how you wish to be treated. I was really hurt that this cop was rude to me when i was quite polite. what did i do to him? He must of been taking his bad day out on me, i am assuming... Why do they think they have the rights to be so rude? They ruin it for other officers.

There are a lot of people who are members of the police who do not believe that they have to obey the law, because they ARE the law.

They see it as a threat when you question their power, and often use their power as a substitute for proper genitalia. I see this time and again. A police/peace officer has a bad day, and takes it out on an innocent person. Since people most people are afraid that they may get arrested, or even beaten by the officer, the officer often times gets away with this behavior, even though it is against ALL police policy. They are not allowed to harrass people, just as they are not supposed to be harrassed.

Given the situations officers deal with on a daily basis, your question about someone getting busted for smoking outdoors on terminal grounds, probably is not a blip on his radar.

Also, he doesn't owe you, me or anyone else an explanation. He may not even have been the arresting officer.

You should contact city officials if you want to know the whats and wherefores of specific laws.

Its not officer rights you have issues with, its their power and authority.
The police officer is just the "heavy" in this situation, the one who is there to enforce rules set up by others. Like it or not, they will never bust everybody for infractions, but at least some will be caught and punished. Peer pressure is hopefully able to increase enforcement without a need for police action.
You probably posed the question to the wrong person in authority. An administrator at the facility, or the rules making boards might get you better results. Even at that you might run into roadblocks.

Basically, you got your nose in where it didn't belong and they really didn't owe you any answers. I get the feeling he wasn't really rude, he just wouldn't get into a conversation with you since it didn't concern you so he was cool and aloof with you.

If your friend has a problem with this, they need to go to court and set a court date and fight it. It was nice of you to be concerned but it isn't your place to get involved unless you are the attorney.

its unfortunate that you feel you were treated improperly - and usually when you are not on the scene when this actually happened, you really don't know what happened. Your friend may not have told you exactly what happened. I have been on many jobs and everyone sees so many things differently. Because this happened to your friend they may have embellished because it happened to them.

Because many officers are ego maniacal and their experiences turned them into what they are... humans with no respect for others.
