It would be foolish, negligent and stupid to not be preparing for it. Not that we'd start it, but we should be prepared to finish it.

It is the height of folly to pretend that it won't happen, or to believe that negotiating will solve the issue. The chances are that it will happen, so the only responsible course is to prepare well for it, even while continuing to pursue diplomatic and economic means of preventing it.

We should also do our utmost to support the growing dissent within Iran. A significant portion of the Iranian population do not support either Ahmadinejad or the Mullahs running the country. We should support, vigorously, any dissidents and reformers and their movements.

Because if Ahmadinejad gets nuclear weapons, all bets are off.

I'll be ready to protest the coming war with Iran, just as I have protested ALL wars.

The Dalai Lama said once at the end of a talk, someone from the audience asked him:
"Why didn't you fight back against the Chinese?"

The Dalai Lama looked down, swung his feet just a bit,
then looked back up at us and said with a gentle smile,
"Well, war is obsolete, you know."

Then, after a few moments, his face grave, he said,
"Of course the mind can rationalize fighting back...
but the heart, the heart would never understand.
Then you would be divided in yourself... the heart and the mind
...and the war would be inside you."

At a different time he said this:
"Through violence, you may 'solve' one problem, but you sow the seeds for another. When the days become longer and there is more sunshine, the grass becomes fresh and, consequently, we feel very happy. On the other hand, in autumn, one leaf falls down and another leaf falls down. The beautiful plants become as if dead and we do not feel very happy. Why? I think it is because deep down our human nature likes construction, and does not like destruction. Naturally, every action which is destructive is against human nature. Constructiveness is the human way. Therefore, I think that in terms of basic human feeling, violence is not good. Non-violence is the only way."

I feel this way about war myself. As the world is more and more interconnected, it has become obsolete.

Communication, and reconciliation are the order of the day, to live in peace and harmony with each other, and one's self.

Not to mention, war, and violence are bad for your karma.
