I think a woman has her own reasons to abort. Some are girls, who can't keep their baby for financial problems, or because they simply need to keep going to school. It isn't right to make a decision for someone. Only they know for what reasons they are doing an abortion. Is it wrong to be a Catholic and not be against abortion??

Yes, it is very wrong.

"There may be a legitimate diversity of opinion even among Catholics about waging war and applying the death penalty, but not however with regard to abortion and euthanasia." -- then Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI

The better question is "Is it wrong to not be against abortion?" And the answer is yes, it is wrong to support abortion. No one has the right to do what is wrong.
Imacatholic2 said it best, and God's word is the final authority WAY over the Supreme Court.
Acts 4:19-21 Peter and John answered and told the Sanhedrin "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen an heard."
Your question says "it isn't right to make a decision for someone" is a liberal lie. Who has the "right" to kill?

Yes.

+ Abortion +

Catholics believe that from the moment of conception until natural death, each human being is endowed by God with dignity and rights.

Abortion is the willful murder of an innocent and defenseless human being.

You shall not kill. (Ex 20:13; cf. Deut 5:17)

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. (Jer 1:5; cf. Job 10:8-12; Ps 22:10-11)

My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth. (Ps 139:15)

Early Church writings: You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. (Didache 2, 2: SCh 248, 148; cf. Ep. Barnabae 19, 5: PG 2, 777; Ad Diognetum 5, 6: PG 2, 1173; Tertullian, Apol. 9: PL 1, 319-320)

+ Adoption +

There is no Catholic rule that states that a woman has to keep the child. There are hundreds of couples waiting to adopt new born babies.

+ With love in Christ.

In the eyes of the Church--yes. (see how some priests & bishops treated some political candidates in the last few elections for being pro-choice)
But like they're saying above me, sometimes you just gotta do what's right for you. Personally, I don't approve of abortion, & I'm Catholic. However, I also don't think it should be made illegal, & I don't think the gov't ought to be involved at all. I will never march in any pro-life parade, nor sign any such petitions, etc. I also thought that what the bishops did in refusing communion to certain political candidates was utterly wrong.
American Catholics tend to be a little more independent on such issues, and we don't seem to let it bother us much (very broad generalizations)

I have a hard time with how many Catholics are willing to go against the Church's teaching on abortion.

Would you condone killing a baby or toddler because the parents were poor or had to go to school? Especially in these kinds of circumstances there are options. There are people waiting years to adopt a child!

These are not clumps of cells being sucked down the sink. They are real babies with fingers and toes and beating hearts - who feel pain!

So to answer your question: YES!

i'm a Catholic(Christian, specific) and my 2 mothers and fathers have been non secular Catholics(Christians, specific) till the dazzling day they surpassed directly to the great beyond to commence their eternal existence. i replaced into with them whilst they died, one in 1996 and the different in 2000 and that i witnessed the main alluring element i'm going to ever witness. i presumed i could be unhappy yet their non violent and airy smiles confident me(if I ever had a doubt) that they have got been seeing something that purely the transition from this international to heaven can show you how to spot. specific, the Catholic Church is unquestionably professional-existence. they are going to do each and every thing to cajole a mom to maintain her new child. notwithstanding, the leaders of our Church at the instant are not monsters. They unquestionably settle for abortion if the mummy's existence is in possibility. you ought to use your consumer-friendly experience, what may be the ingredient to have a new child if the mummy and the child will die. that could desire to be 2 human beings loss of life and if there's a difficulty with the being pregnant to the ingredient that the mummy is in possibility, the child is probable to die besides whether the female could miraculously make it. What stunned me notwithstanding is what I witnessed whilst i replaced into in my previous due adolescents. i do no longer understand in the event that they could nevertheless do it when you consider that some regulations substitute, particularly whilst the Pope isn't the comparable. a woman I knew became pregnant and her existence wasn't in possibility yet for motives purely regularly occurring to her and a jury composed of many monks, Nuns, docs, and so on., she replaced into granted the dazzling to have an abortion by capacity of the Church. There could desire to have been an exceptionally solid reason however. different than that, even the pill is considered a sin because of the fact it stops a a risk existence. i'm no longer afraid to admit it, this could nicely be a sin I committed with the blessing of an outstanding Priest who prefered a woman to take the pill than a relatives with too many babies and not something on the table. we've 3 babies and it takes each and every penny we could desire to continually provide them a classic existence and that i'm no longer speaking approximately being spoilt.

opinions are great and all..but...as a catholic should you be for rape? you don't know the circumstance of the rape and how and why it occurred just as the reasoning you gave for the abortion....but i'd say of course not....so why would you be for the murder of the unborn?
instead you should be for women and men using birth control and personal responsibility instead of resorting to having their child's brains sucked into a sink and the leftovers sold to a lab which in turn will give money to the demoncat party and congressmen....good luck with that.

The Church encourages you to find and follow your conscience, if it really is conscience that's guiding you on this one. The Church takes a stand for right and wrong based on its moral dogma, and hopes that the flock will see and follow. Some see abortion as a personal choice, others see it as a crime against the unborn and humanity. You should dig deep and understand the Church's reasoning against this terrible crime. Then you might change your mind. You sound like you are approaching it from the typical secular and politically correct position, which comes from the feminists and ugly world which has debased and devalued child bearing women.

Ask yourself this question instead. Is it wrong to destroy a living being that God has created? Who gives us the authority to say who is or isn't to be born on this earth. I always thought that was to be Gods decision. I am not trying to judge you or anybody for that matter. But the truth will set us all free. However, if you think my answer is correct and you have happened to make that awful decision, remember God will forgive you if you repent, if you ask him from the bottom of your heart.

I am a Bible believing Christian, not a Catholic.

If a girl is in school she should make her choice and NOT get pregnant.

If they can't afford to keep the baby, put the baby up for adoption, don't kill it.

Its wrong for any Christian, not to be against abortion, it does matter what your denomination is.
