Neo-ravens evolved from another kind of bird after the flood.

classic example of pre-occupied scripture reading... I sense some sarcasm in your question... but here's the fact.. Noah had seven of every kind of bird in the ark (Genesis 7:3).... Even though if it was two ravens (one male and one female) it wouldn't be a problem because... birds will always find their pair. If this was the case then when the ark settles the other raven will come out and somehow find the raven that Noah sent out first... it is called animal instinct.. and guess what "God created animals this way"...

Please read the Bible with an open mind... and remove all the prejudice before you go to it... It will give you more wisdom to avoid stupidity in life, and also on answers.yahoo.com

To the person who answered saying that the raven was an unclean animal so they had only two... you are wrong... read it carefully (Genesis 7:3). Noah took 7 of every bird regardless of clean or unclean. It was just the other animals that he took 2 of unclean...

basically, there are 2 versions of Noah in the Bible (& 2 of Creation--go ahead & read straight through from Creation to Noah. Some strange & contradictory stuff there. Happened because there were 4 main strands, id'ed by letters: J, etc. They all got put together. One clue is how they refer to God: the Lord, Yahweh, and so forth.)
We are more familiar with the 2 animals, but the other version says 7 of each clean (& I forget how many of the unclean--where would ravens fall, anyway?) just as we are with the version of Adam & Eve that has Eve made after Adam from his rib. There is one that says they were created at the same time.

The common interpretation is that the raven was a faithless bird; it found a place to roost & never went back to report to Noah. The dove on the other hand was faithful and brought back the olive branch to report the waters had receded.

Noah actually was ordered by God to take 7 of the clean animals (including birds) and 7 of the unclean animals (Genesis 7:1-5). So, there still would have been 6 ravens left.

1 The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. 2 Take with you seven [g] of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, 3 and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."

5 And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.

Well since ravens are unclean animals (I think) then that would mean Noah did only bring two. But that doesn't mean those two couldn't of had birdies. There was enough time for that.
But oh..I don't know! I don't even believe that the flood really happened.

For all those who answered that he had seven pairs of ravens, take a look at the list of unclean birds:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_animals

Ravens were unclean, so he only had two.

Less one lost at sea
Leaves one.

Maybe he lost the male, who had already served his purpose in the 150 days on board the ark, and the girl-raven was with eggs.

And maybe the Sun really does go round the Earth, it just does not look like it.

I think before the Raven was sent away, it had already nested a cluster of chicks

the fact that the raven did not return does not mean it completely left that part of the world..

The no return means it found somwhere to land away from the ark...
