Years ago when I was a kid I had a terrifing nightmare that stills haunts me. In my nightmare I saw the Grim Reaper in my house and told me this "I am the king of death and nightmares". I can't remember the rest he said but he said somthing about DEMONS, ANGELS, DREAMS, and NIGHTMARES. He also told me that we have a fight to the death. If he won, I would have nightmares till I die. If I won, I will never have a nightmare ever again. Then there was the fight, at the end I stabbed him. The Grim Reaper was bleeding and while he was coughing up blood he said "I will be back to haunt you". After that nightmare I never had a nightmare ever again. Now my dreams are just plain white. But...years later....the Grim Reaper still haunts some of my dreams and he came back to life. The recent nightmare that I had about the Grim Reaper was about a coupple of months ago.

Classic boogeyman dream.

All boogeymen dreams have similar characteristics: fantastical and seemingly unstoppable enemies and an extreme fear of the consequences of losing.

With concepts like the Devil and Grim Reaper and days of judgement hanging around our collective heads, its no wonder we dream of such unstoppable 'creatures'.

But most creatures are just that: creations, things other people create in order to have a sense of power and control over their lives.

Also, if one wishes to do something 'heroic', be somebody, one cannot do so by the 'safe' route. Knights seek out dragons to test their 'courage' by, but they wouldn't be much a test of courage if the dragon wasn't fearsome.

So, is the 'Grim Reaper' the personification of all your fears formed into one person? The fact that it's a 'all-or-nothing' fight suggests your hope that this one 'fight' will end it all. However, since the Grim Reaper is really just a dream idea of your fears, your dream is actually about your fear that even if you do 'defeat' this nightmare, it will never go away.

One cannot defeat anything if one begins from the premise that the thing one is fighting cannot be defeated. The inability to believe is what caused your defeat in your dream. That is why the 'Grim Reaper' said that if you won, you would never have another nightmare ever again. If you believe you can defeat the 'unbeatable' then you will never feel helpless or be at the mercy of someone again.

Believe in your ability to overcome, and the Grim Reaper will haunt you no more.

Clearly the fate of the world is in your hands...heh.. just kidding...

"To see the grim reaper in your dream, signifies the negative, rejected aspects of your personality. It represents aspects of yourself that you have repressed. Alternatively, it symbolizes death or the end of something. To dream that you stab someone, indicates your fear of betrayal and your untrusting nature. You may be too much on the defensive. To see blood in your dream, represents life, love, and passion as well as disappointments."- DreamMoods.com

So, if we put that all together...it sounds a lot like there was an aspect of yourself that you were disappointed with, perhaps your untrusting nature, and you KILLED IT!! KILLED IT!!!!......... and perhaps in the past couple of months this part of your personality has come back and you don't like it.
Were you going through puberty when you had this dream when you were younger? Or maybe were your parents having problems then? ANd are you having relationship problems now?

Anyway, good luck. Hope this helps. Also, I know you say that your dreams are just white, but if you keep a dream book by your bed, and write down everything you remember about your dreams as soon as you wake up, you'll start to remember more and more details of your dream. I mean, you can insist you don't have dreams if you want, but it's just not true. I promise.

The Grim Reaper is symbolic of some problem or issue you were dealing with at the time. You got over it and the nightmares ended, but maybe a similar problem is coming up now. Bad dreams are your subconcious' way of getting your attention to deal with a problem you have.

you've already explained this dream yourself pretty well! Except the demon was really a fallen angel also known as hypnos-the god of sleep! You're already quite adept at fighting off evil spirits it seems so you don't really need any advice...just keep fighting evil...at least you have some level of awareness which is more than I can say about most people on yahoo answers!

all I can say is that you may have had an over-active imagination as a kid most dreams are said to be inspired by what happens throughout the day for example if I am studying for a test or something all day I may see chemical equations in my dreams or something like that
