Turbulance, maybe nassuea, pack Imodium just incase the altitude screws with your system. Jet lag is common, being tired or nervous/jittery. A lot can't be expected because it's how your body reacts. Just stay calm and drink water as needed to help.

Nothing to special. Its a plane ride. You get on the plane sit down put your seat belt on and enjoy the ride. Sure it feels a little bit weird to be in the air but after the first few minutes it feels just like a car ride unless there is some turbulence. But turbulence is nothing to be scared about, it wont do anything to the plane it just feels like a bumpy road. You might think at some points that the plane is going to just fall down out of the sky, or some times you will hear weird noises or the engines sound like they are slowing down. All of this is normal.
The best thing you can do is try not to worry about the flight. Sit Back relax and enjoy the view if you have a window seat. Don't worry about anything you hear or see. Flying is very safe. If you have any specific questions feel free to e-mail me.

Pack a sweater or knit jacket - they cool down the plane a lot on long distance flights. Also, a pair of warm socks (same reason). Earplugs if you want to make sure you can sleep. Some gum or something else to chew during start and landing (frees your nose and ears). Moisturizer for your hands and chapstick (cabin air is dry). And yes, a book or magazine or sudoku book so you don't depend on whatever on board entertainment they have.

Long security lines, take off your shoes, be prepared to take a jacket off to go through the x-ray machine. Any liquids must be 3 oz. or less, in bottles, and in ziplocks. Laptops and cameras go through x-ray too. Have your boarding pass and ID on you at all times. Put your carry-on in the overhead compartment unless it can fit under the seat in front of you. Have some cash in your pocket if you want headphones or food or alcoholic beverages. Otherwise just buckle up, grab a book or magazine, sit back and maybe sleep.

Long lines. Wear shoes that you can put on and take off easy. Bring a book to read. Know what you can take carry-on (like how much liquid etc). Know what time you need to be at the airport in order to make your flight. Tie a piece of bright yarn or ribbon around your checked baggage so you can find it easily.

1. Don't worry. Its no big deal.
2. The seats are small. You can only carry on one or two small/medium bags. I suggest you take a book to read. Don't take any knives, spray cans, scissors, etc. Don't lose your tickets. You'll need a photo ID at the gate. Arrive in plenty of time, at least one hour ahead.

Expect your ears to hurt. Bring some gum or candies to suck on. Also, bring along some headphones in case they are playing a movie. I always bring along some magazines/books, etc.
