...And "yours" and "mine," etc? Or have I done something wrong? Or does it indicate a problem? If it's normal, when do they usually start to use them correctly? Thanks!

It's very normal for a 2 yo to mix up tenses and possessives and all those grammatical things. How soon it will correct itself depends on the child.

Don't make a big deal of it, but you can repeat the sentence correctly if you like.

Yeah, it's pretty common.
They say things like "Hold you" when they want you to hold them. They are just repeating what you said with a certain act that took place.

Don't fret, 2 year old do good just to be saying the word correctly. They may not get it all grammatically correct until around 6 to 8 years old.

2 year olds always get things mixed up - don't worry about it.
What would really be great, at this age, buy some flash cards; alphabet letters, numbers, shapes and colors. The kids love them and it's never too early to begin their education skills to prepare them for their first day of school.

My son is 2 and does the same thing with certain words. He also started talking about himself in the third person. We just correct him when he says it every time (even though it is so cute) and now he is getting better about using them the right way.
He stills always says, "I wanna hold you!" When he wants to be held but that one is just too cute to correct! :)

Language is a brand new tool to them. As it is with all tools in life, it takes a little bit of practice to get it all right.

Work with that little one. Soon as he/she understands the difference in the words, the problem will be gone.

It is perfectly normal as they are still learning to build and construct language. Think about it. Do you use I/me or you more in conversations with them?

My daughter is forever replacing YOU with I. "I" do something really means "You." Give your toddler time and he/she will be a pro with pronouns soon!

Thats fine, concepts like this are harder to get then orange and apple. An orange is always an orange. But "me "depends on who's saying it.. Just sing the barney song - I Love YOOOOOOOOOOOOU, You Love MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Yes it's normal, as is "sir" and "ma'am" etc. They will (should) improve in the next year or so - mine did.

at two years old they are just repeating what they hear and thinking they will hopfully get it right when they mostly get it wrong. dont worry. if you keep correcting him and they are still doing that they probably are just pushing your buttons to annoy you. its natural to repeat what u hear.
