John 14

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Who else like this verse?

"Let not your heart be troubled!!" How calm He says it yet How much it means! And, "that where I am there ye may be also." What Joy! I will be with Him one day.

For those who are not truly Christian (ie for those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus), I would think that this verse might not have as much significance or meaning

For me, it means a lot, 'cause I know what it is referring to. Even now, as I sit here and type, I know that Christ is preparing a place in Heaven that is especially suited for me (and for all others who believe in Him).

Every now and then I think about this verse, and find myself excited to see what will await me when I breathe my last. The fear of Death no longer has a hold on my life, as I look forward to one day leaving this temporal body.

As the Apostle Paul says,

"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

It's a beautiful verse. The promise. The hope. The father-like guidance. It symbolizes the human desire to be "taken care of" I love it.

"Say it best"?...

I'm sorry, but "say it best" implies that you have read AT LEAST 2 of the other scriptures of the world.

Have you read ANY of the other scriptures of the world?

The Qur'an,
Tao Teh Ching,
The Rig Veda,
The Upanishads,
The Tibetan Book of the Dead,
The Tree of Wisdom,
The Five Classics of Wu Jing,
Corpus Hermeticum,
Akaranga Sutra,
Kalpa Sutra of Bhadrabahu,
Mahabharata,
Ramayana,
Harivamsha,
Guru Granth Sahib,
The Egyptian Book of the Dead,
The Three Grotos,
The Walled Garden of Truth by Hakim Sana'i,
Songs of Kabir,
The Alchemy of Happiness by Al-Ghazzali,
The Masnavi of Rumi,
The Gulistan of Sa'adi,
The Teachings of Hafiz.

There are MANY others, but come back when you have read at least A FEW of the others and can actually compare how the Bible says it with how the other scriptures say it.

I love it, but come to think of it, I love the whole Bible, besides my salvation, my Bible is my most prized possession.

Many times, during times of trials, I turn to those verses, they have comforted me so much!!

I like it. He gives us the reassurance we need that God loves us and will take care of us. These are some of the last words He spoke before the Crucifixion. He was thinking of us and not Himself --- as always.

I love this verse because it gives me a foundation on which to base my praise for what God said he has for me.

Nice, but it pales beside my favorite:
Deut. 25: 11-12
“When men fight with one another and the wife of the one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of him who is beating him and puts out her hand and seizes him by the private parts, then you shall cut off her hand. Your eye shall have no pity."

How can you not feel the love!

Fiction is a great escape from reality and at times very comforting. Nonetheless, reality continues to happen. Every moment you focus on your death, you are losing a significant part of your life.
